on a side note, i hate Smoke Daddy's. So much cartilage...like mouthfuls of cartilage. i don't understand.

p.s. don't let anyone from the suburbs tell you Carson's is good. It's very tasty but there's no meat on the bones and it's ridiculously expensive for what you get. They're priced for Deerfield retirees.

Dear Chicago-Gaf,

What's the deal with Rosemont? Its a shady ass place. Niothing leaps out to me that screams it. But something about it. Its not Stepford, but just dealing with the cops and convention centere people there. I just weird weird about them.

Man, I couldn't have asked for better weather the last two weeks here in Chicago. So much stuff I didn't get to do, but there's always next time.

I got plenty of city golf done. Bad Apple was the best food I ate.

I was thinking mid-April, for C2E2, but tha tmight be too hectic for folks.

Oh, I don't want to point fingers, but if you ever go to MicroCenter near Wicker Park, there is some crazy dude there playing the Naruto game on demo and shouting out the movies.

It depressed me.

I went to high school with the Rosemont kids. It is a weird place with the gated community, all the hotels and the mob, but the property tax money coming in did help my high school :) . The Rivers Casino was initially planned to be in Rosemont for years and years, but the mob influence was so overt and obvious that they moved it to Des Plaines.

How funny, I worked there a few years back! Plenty of people coming in trying to the place with fake money and 'situations'. The people were great and the discount was very generous. Not to bad to be honest!

I kinda miss living in Chi-town. Ah well, maybe in the future I'll come back ;-)

I flirted way too much with the Asian waitress there. I think we were both disappointed with each other's ages at the end.

Oh, pizza is tasty. Appetizers were gross.

i had pequod's over spring break and was shocked at how good it was. the crust was totally not soggy and deliciously crisp on the bottom but soft and chewy inside. how the hell do they do that? i need to get some big cast iron deep dish pans i guess.

eating pequod's for the first time right now.

Wouldn't say it's head and shoulders above my current favorite deep dish, malnati's, but it's instantly tied with it for my favorite.

The sauce brings it down a little...it's that same sweet, runny stuff that Art of Pizza uses. I'm more of a fan of the chunky, sour/vinegary malnati's sauce. The crust is the best I've had though and goes great with the cheese. The cheese also has a damn good flavor to it.

been so long since i had deep dish, time to pass out from cheese coma <3
