Ugh. My heart goes out to Chris Avellone and anyone else falsely accused. Yes, Avellone won a 7-figure settlement, but the lawyers will need to be paid. Are there taxes on such a thing? I don't know. Anyhow, it doesn't make up for the years of humiliation and anguish, loss of friends and reputation, and all the stress of the legal battle. I'm glad he finally prevailed, but damn, how sad to be put through that -- all because a woman just decided to make some shit up.
