Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Three years in a row they awarded the best supporting actor to very unpleasent characters: Anton Chigurh, The Joker and Hans Landa. Two of them are now Bond-villians. I really wish that we could see what Heath Ledger could bring to a bad guy in a Bond-movie.

Really happy with the casting.

Honestly, there really hasn't been a good Bond villain since License to Kill. Mads Mikkelsen was the closest, but he was ruined by the script basically turning him into a bitch.

Mostly because every villain is just "pisses off James and gets in his way", which is completely unemotional and repetitive to say the least.

Too late to do it with Craig on his way out, but I'm hoping the next actor gets a measure of consistency with the characters he's involved with. James has NOTHING you can take from him, and that's a pretty boring reality. Casino Royale was so good because Vesper was a fucking goddess to the point where James was ready to leave everything behind. And we wanted that for him.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
LATE TO THE PARTY

Waltz is one of the best actors of all time

This Bond will become GOD because of this choice

Got to do the abseil with commandos into secret super base wearing turtlenecks.

Hope Craig bows out after this one unless the last two are connected.

Because I find him to be one of those actors, in his American roles anyways, who tends to give almost the same performance regardless of the film/role. Kind of like how I never buy George Clooney as anything but George Clooney, I feel the same about Waltz. His characters in Django/Bastards were different on paper, but the performances were basically the same thing.

Can you be my lover?

Django/Basterds had the same director too though. Hopefully a different director can get him to do something different.

Bardem was hamming it in Skyfall. But you can't help but do that when you're a fucking bond villain. Really excited for Christoph though. He was an absolute charming piece of shit in Inglorious Basterds.

I don't know who this Waltz is and I'm no fan of Q Tarantino films but seeing the positive comments in here I remain optimistic.

But Sam Mendes being the director again is still a major letdown as Skyfall disappointed. And yeah, Javier Harden were wasted, though he did put in a great performance.

When are we expected to get an official movie title? Shouldn't it be by next month?

Good choice but nothing will beat Javier Bardem.

Bardem's villian started out amazing, especially his intro monologue, but the character starts to take a nosedive around the courtroom scene for me and never recovers.

I really liked the idea of M turning him into "the last rat" and then just abandoning him, tho. Even though he did bad shit I still felt for the guy. Waltz will kill it tho, so so so excited.

Does anyone under 50 know how Blofeld is? Might as well be called Dr. Evil

they wont know the name but the bald super villain stroking a cat is absolutely iconic

They'd better tie Blofeld into the last 3 movies. Craig doesn't have enough time left with the character for them not to.

Also I'll be mad if Bond 25 isn't based off the unused elements from You Only Live Twice novel now.
