Some of us regretted it at the time. Repeatedly. For the last couple of decades.
I can imagine. It's some cringe worthy shit. I remember seeing the old MGS trailer with the prerendered cutscenes and thinking it looked awesome when I was younger, in retrospect it's laughable, and the in-game stuff holds up so much better.
The reason we almost certainly won't see FFX/X-2 in these HD Collection is because the CG is not good enough, and stretching to HD is going to look shit, so they either redo it, which costs money, or they don't put it out, which I think they'll favor.
As good as the FMV looks in GoW2, the in-game stuff looks considerably better in the Collection (even more so in the first game). It is a real shame, as it was in NGS which also does the same thing.
Hopefully this generation will solidify it in developers that in the future, resolution and image quality will be able to improve their games and consistency is far more important than anything else. Because ten years from now, when we're enjoying autostereoscopic 3D in Quad HD, the FMV in FFXIII is going to look like ass, despite it being the best in the industry.
