lol he makes a good point. It's never a good thing when you see writers and directors constantly leaving projects. Maybe Disney could slow the fuck down and try maybe 3 movies in 5 years or 4 in 6 instead of a movie per year. I know milking the cow is too strong an urge atm, but if they heavily damage the brand it will be worse off in the long term.

I'm guessing it'll take longer to find out who the next director is than it did with the Han Solo movie, as that one was well into the process of shooting and a decision was needed immediately. As Episode IX is not set for release until 2019, I bet it'll be a bit until we hear anything. I do think (if it was set for a May 2019 release) it will be delayed until December 2019, though.

It'll probably be pretty quick I think, movie was scheduled to start filming in January next year, I imagine they are gonna want the same year and a half + turnaround time like JJ and Rian got plus if Rian or anyone big comes on they'll probably want a rewrite.
I'd be surprised if we don't find out before the end of the year.
