What a way to end the regular season. That Ohio State/Indiana game is an instant classic. I would rank it up there with some of the best games ever.

Toughness of Indiana was on display last night. Two fourth and short stops inside the ten yard line.

And then, the play of the day, imo......

That was a Heisman throw

I told my wife that Cig was going to throw for the win before they snapped that ball.

He dropped back and I just had that feeling it was going to end poorly

Glad I was wrong and I do agree, that was the Heisman moment

What a great play, no doubt. So glad to see Indiana not only being a legit team, but a massive contender. It feels like I'm in the upside down.

As always, fuck Ohio State.

Also, I need an IU vs ND in the Natty. Make it happen, football gods.

Clutch catch by Becker too. I think I woke up the house on that play

Walking around downtown Indy yesterday heard way too much O - H - I - O chant

Playoff show is going to be a real kicker today. I would not put bama in. I would put vandy in.

I wouldn't put Bama in as a 3 loss team and seeing the score and stats it looks like Georgia just dominated them I mean Bama had -3 yards rushing for the game?

That said I bet they do put Bama in

OSU fans are obnoxious, I have a buddy that is a Michigan fan and he has to take his Michigan plate off the front of his truck whenever he goes to Ohio.
Funny how they finally played a good team and lost.

I get so tired of those guys emphasizing "THE" Ohio State. Ok? As if Ohio has a shitton of top football programs or something? Take that, Miami of Ohio!

Seriously, every damn NFL game where they introduce the starters and they all say that. No one gives a shit they went to Ohio State, let alone THE Ohio State.

Well, the top 5 conference champs are: IU, UGA, TT, Tulane, and JMU. Then it's the 7 at large. Bama might fall a spot depending on what they do with UGA. The CCG isn't supposed to knock teams out. Bama will probably be in because of that.

I wouldn't put a 3-loss team in. Can't wait for the mental pretzel-twisting to either put a 5-loss team in a bye position -OR- just snub a conference-winner and do something equally crazy, raising people's ire either way.

College football is a dumpster fire now with NIL and transfer portal — NFL Lite.

Genuinely excited for Indiana.

Personally I think Notre Dame should have been in and Bama out
I agree. I am not big on punishing a team for playing a conference title game but that was a terrible showing by Alabama.

*On the flipside (to play devil's advocate). ND should not get a break for not being in a conference.

Nah, the committee isn't gonna punish a team in post-season CCG's. The UVA loss fucked ND, they wanted one ACC team in there, ND got the shaft. I think they was only 1-2 vs ranked teams, so it made the most sense to shaft them. They can get a conference.

I wouldn't have had an issue with Bama getting in if they would have played better yesterday

I didn't watch the game so not sure it was as lopsided as the score and stats show, that -3 rushing yards for the game is terrible

I really don't think Tulane and JMU are 2 of the best 12 teams either though.

Maybe should have removed one of them for ND and I honestly don't care for ND, just feel they are one of the better teams in the country

I just feel Bama didn't show up yesterday, that should be punished more than anything

Ya, they played like shit with their negative rushing yards and all, but you can't leave out a team in the postseason CCG. The political ramifications would've been extreme. That would've been the end of the SEC CG. And maybe others. Sure, you can rearrange chairs, but you can't take those chairs out. I would've felt the same if it were Tennessee.

BYU got penalized for losing their CCG

2 losses in the regular season. 1 in the postseason. Bama did beat some teams in the league this year. Ya, UGA dominated them, but in the postseason. That's politically no bueno to punish teams in postseason CCG. Like I said, even Tennessee, I would have to have this mindset. 7-1 in SEC play with some good wins. Sure, that FSU loss sucked, but it was early in the season. No matter, Deboer teams aren't like Saban's. They're going home early. Simpson could create havoc, but not enough.

Agreed, ND needs to join a conference. I'm a fan, and I think they should have gotten in, but I also realize it's not fair to the other teams that have to play in championship games. ND needs to join a conference, period.

Big question too would be who do we think is playing better football as of late, ND or Bama?

Plus I think conferences should figure out a better system who is playing for their championships as in the case of Miami or even Bama

Y'all got fucked due to UVA blowing it.

Well, there's a big SOS debate there. ND just needs to join the BIG whenever their abomination of their ACC contract ends.

Agreed, Alabama looked like absolute dog shit yesterday. They should just implement a seeding system similar to how the NFL does it. If you win your conference, you're automatically in. Obviously they would have to figure something out for the at large teams for wildcards, but we need to do away with voting on rankings and rewarding or punishing teams for style points. The only thing that should matter is wins and losses, not by how many points they scored, or how pretty their performance looked. I know this is kind of how the system operates now, but they need to remove any potential subjectivity and do away with selecting teams via voting.

Brainstorming out loud so take it for what it is.

We are starting to see rumblings of conference championship games going away. That would be bad IMO. I would rather keep them and then base the top 12 on rankings. We just have to figure out the rankings because we know it is way too hard for teams to break into the top 12 compared to those that get the benefit of tradition.

If we keep the conference title games, it still gives a team that will not make the top 12 a title for a good/great season. It would also make for better playoffs if they can settle on what the ranking criteria would be ahead of time. One thing for certain, deciding by committee is not working all that well. Regardless of how much they try to keep it out, bias will creep in and ranking criteria seems fluid at times.

This season would be a good argument for either removing auto bids or going to 14 or 16 teams. I have no idea what the right answer is, but I expect the playoffs will eventually get to 16 teams.
