At least you were able to maintain your conference aversion to major metro areas.

Have you seen the colleges that reside in major metro areas in the south? There are only 2 worth considering 1 of which is about to be dead and the other already left cause of Bama oversigning before it was cool to get all pissy about oversigning.

After finally seeing a replay, I can confirm that Toledo got completely, utterly screwed. Not even SEC officials are that incompetent at their jobs.

Even I as a BG fan find no joy in how bad Toledo got screwed in that game.

Is this where all the big 9 and Texas fans come in and act bitter because A&M bettered themselves?

If there are people that should be bitter it is the SEC fans since A&M bettered themselves at our expense.

Seriously. A&M just joined Tennessee and Notre Dame on the list of programs that I hope contract polio and have to get shoved in an iron lung but unfortunately still end up crippled like most people who got polio and decide to wither and give up on life unlike FDR who overcame the limitations of his disease and had a highly successful life.

Thanks...?

And while I do hope that Mizzou would be #14, they'd have to pull off one heck of a trick to get more schools into the Big 12 but not be sued when they leave, or deal with those draconian TV rights hold ups.

As much as I like bashing on aggie. I shouldn't say too much, because they're is a pretty good chance I'll be a student there next year.

Here's the best advice I can give you: Get a group of friends together, drive west on 60 out of town, and when you get to Snook pull into Sodolak's on the right. Order bacon, toothpicks, and a "small" ribeye. Check first to make sure it's still the case, but you can bring your own alcohol so long as you take the glass back out and they don't serve it (so no beer).

Meh. I hope we ride at 13 until a better option than Mizzou comes up. I don't want 16, that is just too big in terms of teams barely being in the same conference with each other.

It's official! Locksley has been fired. Defensive coordinator to act as interim head coach.

Recruit was busted for DWI last night outside of University Stadium driving car registered to Mike Locksley's wife.

So on top of 2 wins in two and a half seasons, Locksley has been involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit, punched out an assistant coach, gotten into a shouting match with a school reporter at a sports bar, and now has a recruit with a DWI in his car.

Worst D1 coach ever? It would be hard to argue otherwise.

No need to thank me. But, so help me god, if our game against Tennessee is fucked up because of your daddy issues I'll type up angry rants on the internet the likes of which you've never beheld.

Minnesota's head coach Jerry Kill has readmitted himself to the hospital after he has suffered a lot more seizures after the sept 10th one.

Dude needs to step down.

If the first one you're referring to is Miami, you should know better than to consider Florida as part of the south.

Anything from Ocala on up is definitely part of the south.

mre, love the comment...and truth.

Texas A&M look like the big fools right now. Getting clowned at home by OSU, wearing SEC shirts. Now the Big 12 will be probably end up stronger without them by adding BYU.

Like the kid losing on the playground saying they are going to take their ball and go home. LOL

Although anything north of Orlando is definitely the south, you are right Miami is something else.

Mike Leach did put a dumbass kid in a shed... oh wait...

Speaking of Leach, UNM should definitely hit him up for a job. He could probably save the program from themselves.

Well, Bama will probably make A&M their annual blood sacrifice to Saban, so there's that.

There's a saying about Florida that I've heard: The further north you go in Florida, the further south you get.

GoldenEye 007 said:
This is accurate. South Florida is better off being broken off and sent to New England.

I like to see it this way. The southernmost of Florida is actually Cuba. Then a little bit further north is the actual north. Then any further north, and you're now in the south. And this is coming from someone who grew up near Fort Lauderdale and now attends UF.

Actually, the saying is the further south you go, the further north you get until you reach Havana. But it's the same sentiment.

Ocala is definitely the tipping point. It is as redneck country as it gets.

Finally!!!! Man it seems crazy that it was just 3 years ago that we had our first losing conference season since 2000 and then Rocky Long left. :(

I don't have much hope left for the next couple years, although it would be really funny if we actually just started winning games now that Locksley is gone~

Edit: Internet polls LOL but this is pretty much the sentiment here:

Do you agree with UNM's decision to fire coach Mike Locksley?
Yes, it was about time 87%
Yes, but not till the end of the season 3%
No, he needed a chance 2%
I don't care 5%

Hey! I have family in Ocala. They just happen to be rednecks. But only I am allowed to call them out for it. Asshole.
Honestly, though, it is becoming less redneck as it slowly expands, pushing the Forest out for new development.
I went to high school in Land O' Lakes, and it is gradually becoming less redneck, too.
Basically urbanization around the cities in central Florida is pushing the rednecks out to the other areas of the state, and to South Alabama.

Wasn't he like 2-28 over teh past 3 years or something? Yeah, "give him another chance" voters were his friends, family, and mistresses

Kids.

mre: Are you Kevin Bacon? When are you going to admit that you spent 2 years of middle school in Hollywood, and your hate of USC is because of that asshole, Fred, from science class?

Confirmation! And I bet they, too, wear naught but jorts.

LOL. I don't hate USC. I tend to not pull for other traditional powers, but I don't have anything against USC other than Kiffikins.

My dad got transferred from Alabama to Tallahassee, FL my senior year so I got stuck in the blasted lands for a year.

Edit @ SAD: I didn't make it to a game last year so I remain ignorant of UF's game day traditions. I commuted to Gainesville each week.

SerArthurDayne said:
Nah, they haven't perfected the camo jorts, yet. That kind of finery is saved for gamedays only. You know that personally. We have had this discussion before.
Can jorts even be camo? I've never seen camo denim (please let there be camo denim).

I could not find any photographic evidence of men's camouflage denim shorts. I guess women are allowed to get away with jorts sometimes if they are cute, but risktaking men and fashion designers haven't taken it fare enough yet.
