Wait until #8 my friend, it gets even better. JRJR just shot up my list of artists because of this series, I still don't like how he draws kids but everything else is mint for Remender's style of writing.
Im gonna miss him on this book, but the change makes sense unlike most artist changes.

Brahs pickup the Vibe figure this week.

It's surprising how much "effort" they are putting into Vibe and Katana in areas like their inclusion in JLA, their own books, and inclusions in toy lines... and how little impact they are actually having. Unfortunate.

I only know of one person (other than Rafa, but he buys/bought everything) who reads Katana. She says it's an interesting book if you can get past Nocenti's dialog.

Vibe on the other hand is amazing and everyone who doesn't read it is a terrible person. :D

Yeah, Katana has had good art but "meh" writing and the hint of a promise of an interesting storyline. (I can deal with it). Vibe has made me a believer.

Both are going to be canceled. </3

At this point every month that solicits come out and FINAL ISSUE isn't next to Vibe is a good month. If crap like Firestorm and Hawkman can go 20ish issues, I hope Vibe at least gets a full year. Sterling Gates is doing fun things in that book.

Currently reading 5 Years Later Legion;

Mon-El with the reality punch before Superboy Prime. He beats Time Trappers ass so hard he made it so he never existed.

Yeah, I loved his work but the change of artists totally works coming out of an apocolyptic alternative dimension. Pacheco's early art looks great so far if you've seen the preview of the Nuke story arc coming up, that brah looks like he was the right man to lock in with Remender. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=45840

Really, as long as they avoid putting Land, Ramos, Liefeld or Dillon on Cap I'm open to all sorts of styles for this book.

Even White can't make those faces look different.

He redrew a lot of Tan's bullshit in one of the early issues of UXF and almost made it look half decent. Then the next issue (the stupid Nazi one) he just gave up and it looked like garbage again.

Acid speaks the truth here, Dean White is amazing but he's no miracle worker. The thought of Land drawing a character like Sharon makes me want to puke, I wonder which porn stars he would trace for her.

He made Tan almost look like Opena, I'd say he's just about miracle worker status.

Funny enough, I really didn't like his coloring for Romita Jr back in ASM, his darker color palette wasn't a great fit for Slott/Romita Jr's lighter Spidey adventure tone. He's great for the dark weird Jack Kirby Dimension Z, though.

I remember really enjoying the art on those issues, he even managed to make Mark Brooks art fit for the first half of Dark Angel Saga.

The ending of Captain America Issue #8. Omg. I did not expect that...

Holy shit I know, came out of nowhere. Captain America is so fucking good right now. I'm interested to see how the story ends up... is it 'canon', or it's own, completely seperate, out of continuity thing?

So should I try to collect all the Trinity War event even if I dont know everything that lead up to it?

The main story is literally 6 issues--two issues each of JL, JLA, and JL Dark. I think Pandora and Phantom Stranger may tie in, but you can probably skip those.

Yeah I am. Ive been trade waiting JL. Been getting JLA. Light week so I might just pick up Pandora.

Thank goodness for a slow week.

DC

Detective Comics #22
Dial H #14
Green Lantern #22
Trinity of the Sin Pandora #1

Also just read The Superior Spiderman vol 1. Really liked it. Cant wait for vol 2.

Question regarding Captain America. I know Marvel has the sliding time scale-but does Cap officially not age because of the Super Soldier Serum? I ask this because Nick Fury doesn't age due to the Infinity Formula-but also due to the timeframe of the current story arc.

I think he ages normally, during the House of M he was never frozen so he was an old man.

When Remender started his run on Cap, he made some comments in his introductory paragraph about Steve being someone "who might well live forever", and not in the context of comicbook story arcs, so I'm really curious to know if that's the case. In Brubaker's run he had Epting draw him slightly younger during the WWII flashbacks so it could be one of those things that editorial doesn't really pay attention to (but should).

EDIT: I forgot about House of M, maybe Cap does age fairly normally then or perhaps there was a retcon somewhere.

I think he aged in House of M because he was never made into a super soldier.

The storyline going on at the moment in Captain America is set 12 or so years in the future, and Cap is being drawn to look noticeably older.

Eh, I don't think Cap has really aged physically (mentally is a different story however, that's what Remender's going for in his run). He just looks old because

a) He has a beard/messily cut hair
b) He's injured almost all of his body
c) He's been washing himself in dirt-filled shitholes
d) JRJR's artwork with White's colouring goes for a gritty/dirty look mixed with sci-fi so it can create that impression.

After last week's walletpocalypse this is a fairly light one for me:

Ten Grand #3

Avengers #15
Iron Man #12

Also Comixology says that Daredevil's out again this week, but it's the week after, right?
