Original torchic had fluffy ears and before that it was even togepi-esque with a half shell
Man that thing is ugly. If its not a completely new type or a boring old normal type that only evolves when the Eevee is female or something, then I think it might be bug type with those butterfly bows, big eyes and colourful bits, but its a pretty lame interpretation of a Bug type Eevee.

I knew about stuff like Stunfisk originally being a Water-type (and Jellicent being pure Water) but I had no idea about Dwebble being Fire or Petilil being three stages. I guess I didn't dig hard enough.

Hope they are too, but I'm glad at least this confirms we are getting a region with evolve forms from previous gens, missed that so much with Gen V. Now to see if they turn Heracross into something from Kingdom Hearts or into something great.

I would absolutely love a Pokémon Hystoria. Take a look at the prototype Pokémon and characters on Bulbapedia. They show how some of the first generation prototype designs inspired the Pokémon design from other generations.

The more I look at the art the more I realize how the design now connects. At first I thought the long "fabric" were part of Ninfia but they're just part of the ribbons. I actually can see how it works now!

It can't be fire/water/electric/psychic/dark/grass/ice since Eevee can already evolve into those
It has to be either a Normal/Poison/Ghost/Flying/Dragon/Steel/Rock/Ground/Fighting/Bug type or a brand new type

Looking at the picture of Ninfia with the other Eeveelutions makes me think that Ninfia may be a steel type with the way it sparkles in the sun. Of course the sparkles could just be trying to draw us to the new pokemon :/
