After doing some NV Surround/3D Surround tests yesterday I decided to run through the first stage again (which is where a lot of people say it's the most "unoptimized"). Very High settings on everything, 2x MSAA:

It sucks this game is unplayable with multimonitor
I can't get decenet performance on a GTX 690 @5760x1080 with out turning off all AA/AF and medium/low settings
Probably need 3xSLI Titan's![]()

Did we ever figure out a way to disable/enable the hud with a button press? It's a pain in the ass to have to type the command over and over to take shots.
So I am slightly annoyied by my SLI peformance in some areas everyonce and a while. Happened on the tanker and in some cut scenes. Basically... the GPU utilization cuts down to 40% (who knows why) and then the game runs at like a flat 24fps. Looks horrible when it happens...
Happens a lot on the first level.. .but barely after that. Anyone know what is up?
I guess that if I use your settings and put Objects on High or Medium I can get 60 as well then? 680 here.
I haven't ever dropped objects from very high so I can't say what performance gains that gives you. I have however dropped water to high and it does seem to gain at least 5 FPS. It seems one or two of those dropped to high in addition to my settings will get you 60 FPS. The 680 and the 590 are quite similar in performance as you know.
Oh and I should add that I have not noticed any micro-stuttering with the 590.
GTX 590, i-7, 120hz monitor, and I think I finally found the sweet spot.
1080p, everything on very high except shadows and shading which are on high, SMAA x1 (low). V-Sync off. Pretty constant 60 FPS with the occasional dip to 50. No tearing. I'm happy, best looking game I've ever seen. Don't tweak anything in the first level though, what a mess.
Increasing to SMAA x2 drops the FPS by 5-10. I'd prefer to be at 60 FPS. This 590 is the best card I've ever owned.
SLI users can try with 0x0C0320F5 sli compat bits DX10 in C3 profile using nvidia inspector. And very important, avoid looking at the ropes XD
A) You are pretty damn clever for figuring this out.The perfomance_rope_bug in the first level

I'm going to try turning shadows and shading to high and see how my rig responds. I figure your 590 should yield similar performance to my 2 580s. But for some reason my system hates SMAAx1 or 2, but is fine with MSAAx2, and of course FXAA.
660 Ti owner here. After hearing about the snake rope thingy I decided to switch PhysX to CPU. Did wonders for me. Before I was getting an incredibly unstable framerate. Now it's 60 all the way with everything at least on "high" 2x AA and textures on "low".
Before, even with eveything on "low" it wasn't as smooth as it is now. Doesn't only affect the first level but goes all the way through.
Other than that, does anyone know who I get rid of these lines in the first level? Talking about the fog clouds.

Everything on Very High@1080p is around 50-60fps. With FXAA enabled, about the same. Also very comparable with x2 msaa. But, my fps drops into the 30's with 1 smaa enabled.
There is really not a whole lot of difference, maybe 5fps, with aa off and with fxaa or 2xmsaa enabled. I only have 1.5gb of vram and with msaa enabled, I notice my usage creeps up to just over 1.5gb. The most I've seen is like 1521mb of my 1536 being used. Fxaa enabled this drops by about 200mb.
Also, this game absolutely torches my gpu. Temps often climb to 97, which is what they are rated for. Of course, all of this is with Fraps enabled, and sensors are being monitored on my 2nd monitor with speedfan, techpowerup gpu, and nvidia inspector.
....how?
To the posters above you can put physx on the cpu via nvidia control panel
e_particlesforcesoftparticles on or 1 should help
And destroy your framerate, I would assume.I have never seen my gpu temps reach 97 before. Planetside 2 with ultra settings enabled will drive the temps to the 80s. You think forcing physx to my cpu from auto will lower gpu temps??
