Damn the PS4 is sluggish it is getting hammered

This is not acceptable.
You put PSN behind a pay wall and don't prepare for the busiest time of the year ?!

This pay wall, god dammit.

We are to blame for this, we gave it legitimacy.

WTF are you talking about? Are you referring to the PSN network? If so, then chill out as its getting hammered most likely.

Actually xbox 360 lets you select any item in your downloadlist and select download now it will move that item to first in the queue.
 
Working fine for me. It took like 2 minutes though before everything started to work however. When I logged in, whats new didn't work. Now it does.

Maybe it just takes a bit?

I want you to give me an example of one online service that has never experienced an outage or had to go down for maintenance.

it seems people in this thread really don't get how servers work. you'd think gamers would be more tech saavy.
 
I guess its the same as XBL in 2007 when COD4 pushed XBL beyond what was capable at that time.

It was just to much at once for x-mas day and beyond, I also think that bigger companies need to better plan for this but sometimes that is just not enough.

Lets hope its "only" for today.

Sure they do. Its also not reasonable to build out a network for getting hammered at launch and Christmas, and then only needed to authenticate 10% of that traffic going forward.

Best they really can do is manage it. Otherwise a lot of resources (ie your money) will be used on unessesary stuff for the other 99.5% of the time.

Launches are the exception traffic/use wise.
 
I downloaded the update just fine but I can't log in to PSN in order to download Resogun. What am I supposed to do now? I don't want to have to spend time with my family.

EA got tons of shit for releasing bf4 the way it is.

And the person you quoted made a good point. I paid Sony $50 for the "right" to connect over p2p and other publishers dedicated networks to play with my friends online and psn has been down multiple times in the last month. It sucks and Sony better have this stuff hammered out completely sometime next year. They should have the infrastructure set up before they start charging. Not after. I'm not donating $50 this first year to help Sony set up their servers. I paid $50 for reliable online gaming out of the gate. I mean, why else do they think it's acceptable to start charging?

I've bought my ps4 on 28 november..
Cracked the present open yesterday at midnight...
Have not powered it today..
Today i'm sitting in the bed relaxing and reading a good book..
This is te Christmas break, there are soooo many things to do...

I think back to when I got my NES 23 years ago this morning and how it worked right out of the box. My SNES, Genesis, and N64 did, too.

I don't agree with the assertion that it's okay for things not to work as advertised at launch or on certain busy times of year, and I'd be pretty upset myself if I got a new console as a gift and couldn't use all of its promised functionality. I'd be even more upset if I bought it myself at launch and it didn't work.

To each their own, of course. Good on you if you're willing to give these companies a pass. I wouldn't, and, if anything, makes me all the more glad I didn't upgrade.

Ok, thanks for the correction on that tidbit. I actually have some stuff in my download queue right now, you are absolutely correct there.

There are 80 million + 360 / ps3 systems out there and probably 4 million Ps4.

How can the PSN get bogged down with such low numbers near start of launch ?

Anyway, bought game digitally on Ps4, so cant log into psn UK with 70 MB optical fibre.

What a crock of sh....t...

Just about to plug my 360 back in.

You realize psn is one network right ? Not multiple networks for different consoles/vita
 
Played a couple matches of Killzone online without a problem. Take out the trash, come back, and now it's telling me that I need PS+ to play online.

I'm sure it'll sort itself out soon enough, so I'll just go play some Ys in bed.

Playing 360 again...

OK Sony, we are payin for online now as a premium on Ps4, give it some priority server time !
