By the original sorcerer. Near the stairs up to undead burg.

Game just crashed on me >< first time.
Ah he wasn't there.. but maybe I went back too quick. Thanks

The game crashed one time at me as well, in the beginning of Sen's Castle.

My 80gb model has software b/c. Don't think they made them for long though.

A question about Londo: What happens if I
kill Gwyndolin? Does that open up more gameplay options?
. I've been hitting a four king's related wall for hours now. Need something else to do.

Not much, you get her soul and some treasure. The firekeeper up at the first bonfire in Anor Londo will also attack you on sight, making that bonfire unusable.

So ugh. I was going into the boss for the painting, and same time someone tried to join my game, and so the boss wasn't moving, so I was like oh shit free hits! So I whack the boss, and then it triggers it to talk... I had no clue you could just talk to it, because I thought it was a bug going on. ; ;

Any tips for beating the painting boss? I got insta fucked up.

Yeahhhhhhh beat four kings take that bitchesssssss.

usually not this petty

Holy shit it talks!

Edit: Help. I'm supposed to
make a decision but it doesn't give me my options really. Do I click Yes to killing Gwyn, or no?

Don't you just love it when your summoner accidentally gets push off a ledge or fall off a bridge cause they run too fast? So hilarious.

Damn Rats poisoned me on my first encounter with them. Luckily firebombs wipe them out easy. And I freaking had the Boar on the ropes but got tagged by one of the fires I was trying to make him charge into. Bah. Oh and I finally killed that bastard Black Knight. It took chucking tons of firebombs at him from up a ladder and yeah, it wasn't as satisfying as going mano a mano with him but fuck that guy.

Ok so... I killed the four kings, and I went to go through the
door that was opened in Londo....and a Rhino I do almost no damage to beat the shit out of me
. This is the biggest, most powerful "wall" I've run into in this game so far.

Where should I go after this? Clearly not there.

Edit: Figured it out. This is not going to be fun. Going to have to wait till tomorrow though because OMG the time again.

I can't fucking find this game anywhere. I didn't want to order online because I didn't want to wait but I'll have too. :(

The store I went to today says EVERY shipment is selling out on the same day they get it. They are getting 50 every day or two.

Ok wtf.

I'm SL8, got to the place with the boar and decided to summon a Phantom. He looked like a starting level character, like me, so everything was fine.
Then I got invaded. And the invader had a
dragon head
.
We backstabbed him at least 4 or 5 times and his health didn't seem to drop much...needless to say he killed us both.
I thought invaders were supposed to be pretty much the same level as you!? What the hell happened?
Also now the gate behind that place is opened and the
dragon
disappeared. Thanks, I guess?

You no doubt were the lucky recipient of an invasion by a cheating asshole.

There's an
infinite souls exploit
involving the Dragon's Head. If you know your way around the game you can get it fairly early on. No doubt your invader got it at a low level and then used the souls to max his gear out but not his level. Now he's spending his days being a dick and invading low-level players with his super maxxed out gear.

If that's you and you are reading this, know that you are a total douche. For reals.

Oh, I must ask again: does anyone know the sales, so far? I want this game to be a huge surprise success!

From Lost Izalith to Crystal Cave... what the hell is going on with this game? It's becoming such a bad game, it's not even funny. Just straight up constant bad design from one place to another... slowly but surely becoming a 5/10 for me and one of the biggest disappointments in recent history.

Blighttown is the first time in a DS game where I feel my deaths are the games fault. Frame rate is so bad at points. Throw in a bunch of fast moving dudes on tiny paths, ugh.

is it worth going a magic path on weapons or is everyone mostly going divine and then another route from there ?

Wow I thought you had finished it.

I've only played up to the gaping Dragon so far but it seems like GOTY to me.

Curious what the overall impression people on NG+ have.

I died once in blighttown, and it was my fault. The framerate was obnoxious but it never felt like a hindrance. You just have to take it slowly, just like everything else in the game.

Started over, remember? 60 hours on first character and 70 hours on this one.

I agree. I actually didn't die but came frustratingly close a few times due to the framerate :(

Seriously, the framerate in that place is the only thing (ok, and maybe some of the awkward menus + UI choices) keeping this game from sheer gaming perfection.

Anyone else farm the
forest door
the good ol' fashioned way? By giving them one poke each (pretty much) and calling it a day? Maybe not faster, but more satisfying.

*Raises Hand*

I'm lvl 78 with +10 weapons. So fighting the traditional way takes less than 5 mins.

There's so much wrong with the online in this game it's not funny. Do these "lobbies" that FRROM are using have a 10 player limit or something? Game is fucking dead online half the time for me due to the stupid stupid way they've handled coop/pvp this time.

Wow, that sounds pretty bad indeed. Now you have me intrigued to try those areas out. I find it pretty hard to believe the drop in level design quality can be that dramatic (not doubting you, just saying)... Although it is possible that they simply ran out of time and rushed some areas to meet their deadline.

If that's the case then it will be a real shame :(

Abyss-walking boss fight made piss easy: a strong +10 weapon in the right hand (preferably Fire Halberd fully upgraded, or maybe a +10 Zweihander), and Crystal Ring Shield in left. Use the shield as your main weapon.

Two or three hits.

Whats so bad about the later areas that makes you feel this way?

Wow that's terrible :( I was hoping for some low level thrills...but that's just cheap.

ignoring pvp because of this, even though i'm a huge pvp buff.

Lost Izalith is indeed really bad. I had my first "holy crap i'm about to throw my controller" moment when I tried getting to that first bonfire. I literally had to quit, do something else for 20 minutes then go back to it. The boss was a bit of a headache too, albeit kinda interesting and different from the other boss fights.

Crystal Cave isn't really that bad, imo and especially once you know the route then it's a straight trip to the boss.

The rest of the areas that I've been through so far have been amazing, imo. So much detail and variety. I have to hand it to From for the level of detail in the game. Like how you can see
the Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith
down below from looking down in the
Tomb Of The Giants
or how when you first get to
Anor Londo
you can see statues of the impending bosses you're about to fight. Just a few examples of things I've noticed in the game. Every area feels cohesive and connected in this world yet feeling very unique and varied at the same time.

It's a shame
Anor Londo
isn't bigger. You see all that estate but you only go into a few big buildings :(

Yessssss. Just beat Ornstein and that fat bastard after 3 tries. What an amazing and tough fight. The music was great too.
I finished this fight last night and it took me at least an hour, and probably a good 10 tries. I refused to do it with any help and I found it to be the most difficult fight I've ever had in a Souls game, especially since my character is melee only.

After being beaten into the ground for the 8th time or so I decided to give in and kindle the bonfire for some extra flasks. Of course, as soon as I went human to do this I was invaded by some Ring of Fog wearing jerk who proceeded to run circles around me and kill me. I lost 30,000 souls or so from my bloodstain in the boss room, but at that point I was determined enough that I don't think anything could have stopped me.

When I finally beat that boss it was probably the best feeling I've ever gotten from a game. THIS is why I play Dark Souls. THIS is why I refuse to get help when I fight the bosses. THIS is why all my hair will be gray (or gone) by the time I'm finished with this game.

I know this seems petty, but is anyone else pissed off about the Namco Bandai loading screen for this game? It's like, dark, ominous, black, then BLINDING WHITE BANDAI SCREEN, then back to dreary, black ominous. I mean, come on! Why did you have to fuck up the whole initial start up of the game? Couldn't pick a different background color? Ugh.

Yeah that seems really petty.

Okay I've lost about 4 times now to the painting boss. Anyone?

I am using a halbred to wide swing after I block an attack from where she makes steps in the snow, but I can't see the health bar, and I can't see her. I've lost everytime, because I'm trying to make space and I get insta killed from the back when it does about 80%+ health and inflicts bleeding.

:/

So Blight Town is the worst area in the history of video games. Ever. Fuck.

Wait until you get in the later areas then. Better framerate then Blight Town but annoying as hell, notice i said annoying and not hard, which is why it sucks.

I truly do hope that this is just my case but I've been checking out what people think and it seems to be a pretty universal thing.

The map design, enemy layout and spawn placement is made by an intern. It's completely rushed in every way, shape and form.
