There is no fog there so I don't think you can.
but I need help here :(

The game really inconveniences mages at times with its busted lockon. That hydra stuff was also hilarious.

You can use it right next to bonfires.

For Gapping Dragon I helped like 10 people kill it and dropped my sign next to the bonfire in the depths each time.

My mistake, some bonfires... lol. But that's because of the area. So yeah, ignore the former part of the comment :P

What's the best way to get titanite chunks?

Lizard Crystal, Black Knight, Dark Wraith soldiers, Sen's Fortress Giant (Bomber and the one through secret door), the furnace of the first day of the Black Knight
Trade: Snuggly with Rubbish
^

and this

Undead Knights in New Londo Ruins, after depleting the water level and opening the doors connecting Valley of the Drakes. Common drop.
Crystal Lizards
The Black Knight in Undead Burg

Ehh, Stray isn't difficult bro. Just stay behind it (but not butt-humping it) as a mage you should be able to nuke it's ass.

The path to the Wolf Ring is the most evil thing ever...yet I feel like it's completely my fault for going up there. The fact that the
big armored dude couldn't hit me yet kept forcing me downward
should of been a clue.

"Siding with Kaanthe is considered the "bad" ending of the game."

What, seriously? I have to beat the game the 'bad' way to get a frickin invasion stone? Fuck you, game. I want to be able to invade others. FFS.

Also. The guy that was waiting at the beginning of New Londo
- it dawned on me that that's the guy from Firelink as I had killed him :o Is this supposed to happen??

Protip: if you're gonna help me in New Londo, PLEASE have the Artorias Ring.

That said, any hints for the boss? Ow. What form of attack should I use?

Go ape shit.

Wear heavy armor, bring a lot of heal juice, and dual wield your weapon. Simply strafe to the back, and go whack crazy, you'll probably take no hits or 1 hit, and you can just point blank heal, then go back to hulk smashing.

One of the easiest fights in the game because all you do is just go bananas.

Edit: If your weapon isn't doing much, then maybe go upgrade a weapon at this point. Taking a Halbred to +10 then changing to a Lightning Halbred is a good choice. Dual wielding that with R1 attacks if you are on PS3 controllers = easy peesy.

i don't know where he is, i'm at the entrance of the dungeon.

After you get through the two pendulum bridges, you'll see a stair leading to a chamber with a serpent on a wall. He's beyond the wall, which you can crumble with boulders later.

Wear heavy, strong gear (i.e. Havel's Armour, Lightening Spear +5 two-handed).
Run towards the first King > Iron Flesh > Poke him to death.
Everytime I had atleast 25% of my health down and my stamina was down, I drank a potion.
Rinse and repeat, I did the last one without Iron Flesh.

And a last tip, you don't have to be cursed, just sprint past all the trash mobs towards the boss.
Easy as that.

I'm pretty sure that's just a bad translation, or something. Not sure where the "of the black knight" came from though haha.

If it is what I think it is then it should be
Kiln of the First Flame
which is the final area of the game.

For the Four Kings boss fight, you have to 2hand your weapon, or you won't do enough damage. I used Iron Flesh so I never bothered blocking anything. Just Estus Flask at 40% hp.

So, in the farming spot behind the 20k door... I figured I'd "play it straight". I killed everyone legit (not sending them off a cliff) and apparently there's an archer lady with a fog ring? Fucking horse shit. You get close, she strafes and slashes me with a sword. You keep distance and she arrows the shit out of me... I can't lock on and I can only seem to do 40 dmg at once because she's pretty much always blocking. What the fuck...........

This isn't the "Hard but fair" stuff from Demon's Souls...

I was able to make her dive off a cliff. :P

You can just join the covenant then sneak attack that archer.

No awesome bow for us :(

anywhere I can find twinkling titanite early in the game besides the first lizard in the barrels?

Nope, pretty sure that's the first occurrence.

Also, regarding the bow lady in the forest, kill her properly because she actually drops some fat loot.

Is the stat tracking on your messages broken?

I have 3 messages that have been up for like a week now. They are all very helpful, one tells exactly where a crystal lizard is in Undead Burg. The next tells there is a knight ahead in a place where you can walk right into it unexpectedly. The third tells where an illusory wall is in The Great Hollow.

All 3 have 0 +/- votes. WTF?

If the system is not broken, then it's obvious that the decision to make the message system based on an item you have to use was stupid. I think people are just being lazy and not using the item, but just reading the messages.

I don't think I've seen a message with more than 4 votes, and even then you can't tell if they are + or -. In Demon's Souls I remember some messages getting hundreds of votes...

:(

Which one?

The cat one?

(Also can you not sneak attack with the halberd? Lol. My game was wonky and the magic user in that area was not reacting to me at all. I hit him 4 times in the back before he started to do anything. None of them sneak attacks, though)

Somebody tell From Software to port the game to PC platform, make it available via Steam and add in mod support for a foundation for the best game in existence?

Yeah the forest covenant. You won't get any backstabs on friendly NPCs until they become hostile I think, but you can just equip your strongest weapon, 2 hand it then use an R2 attack from behind for free damage. Just make sure you block off the path that leads to a cliff lol.

When you revisit the
Undead Asylum
, you can trade the following items with the
bird's nest
for Twinkling Titanite: Purple moss clump, blooming purple moss clump (this will give you 2 twinkling titanites).

How to do it:
Just drop the item in the nest, and then walk a few steps away. Quit via the menu back to the start screen. Then re-load and your items are there. Only trade 1 at a time. If she makes a comment about the item you can not trade it.

Wait. Since I'm in the forest covenant, those people shouldn't be hostile? Oh jeeze.

The humanoids shouldn't. Archer is a humanoid right? Shouldn't be hostile either, unless of course you attacked it, turning it hostile.

That's what I did.

It'd be nice if stuff like this was explained.

Well, they're hostile again so.

Just picked this up at the B2G1 free deal. I'm scared.

Don't be. The first few hours if you have never played Demon's Souls may be head scratch inducing, but after that you'll get the flow of the game. Even Demon's Souls players had to make a few adjustments and figure out what certain things do that are not in Demon's Souls.

As long as you're not some guy who is strictly playing a lot of Madden and Call of Duty, then you'll have a chance with some patience and asking questions on GAF when you are confused. :)

Advice: don't hit/attack NPC's unless you're willing to deal with long-lasting, harsh consequences.

Have fun. Embrace the pain.
