someone explain me this
a high-end PC will not solve the framerate issues?????????????
why
Madness.I'm fine with 1080p (obviously), and I'm actually fine with a locked 30fps frame rate. The game wouldn't play right at 60.
But yeah, I'm a little worried this'll end up being an unstable mess...
The Last Remnant PC version was the best version. They gave us some good graphical options and fixed so much of the gameplay mechanics it's not even funny. How many Japanese developers are familiar with modern PC development? How many have actually put out good PC ports of their games (by western PC standards)? The only one I can think of is Capcom and that's probably because of the nature of their engine.
lol, oh man what a ride, first there's PC port, everyone goes holy shit yes, then it's 720p and GWFL locked, everyone goes ape shit, then suddenly its available via Steam, everyone goes hell yea! then the DLC is available for the consoles too, everyone goes, fuck the PC imma go back to console. Then there is, 1080p, but with no optimization to framerates. lol
Strange, according to this:
Really though, it seems strange to think the framerate is hard coded. Time will tell, but given a fast enough CPU and GPU it should hopefully be up to the task of powering through it.
The game wouldn't play right at 60.
Madness.
Nah, really. I look at something like Bioshock, which was obviously designed to be played at 30fps... and it was kind of a mess on PC at times. Example: the couch falling down the stairs at the beginning. It looks terrrrriiiiibbblllleee. Shadow of the Colossus is another example of something that would just feel off at a higher frame rate. Not every game would benefit from a higher frame rate when ported.
And I'm not even one of those people who hides behind the "30fps is more cinematic" argument.
At least for nVidia there's framerate limiters if it bugs you enough. Though you're right, it's possible the physics may be meant only for 30 FPS and will be screwy looking at 60.Nah, really. It's just bad game design from the beginning. Never really feared that the bad performance would be "hard coded" but rather if the engine is at least decent so it uses the power of PC. We all know games that run better on console *facepalm*Nah, really. I look at something like Bioshock, which was obviously designed to be played at 30fps... and it was kind of a mess on PC at times. You guys probably don't want to be reading that interview, because it's going to cause a real shitstorm when people do.
Having not played this particular game yet, I can't state whether that's the case.Madness.
The framerate looks to be complete ass in this port

so we just wait for the community for HD textures?

Why not?And custom resolutions higher than bloody 1080p. If you're not playing on a laptop or through a tv, there' no excuse for PC gamers to be playing at 1080p.

I'm gonna 8xSGSSAA up in this. If it's going to run like crap, I'll give it a good reason.

Please stop posting this nonsense, it is objectively bullshit, period and yes you are, it's your exact argument.
Next you'll be preaching how AA and AF make things look clinical and how you yearn for the jagged edges and blur of yore.
Why not?
To be fair to him, Bioshock was especially bad because, for some insane reason, the devs hard coded the physics system to be rendered at 30 FPS, meaning you're walking along at 60 FPS, you kick a bottle and only the can flails around at 30 FPS. It's quite surreal and I've never seen that with any other game.

While the cases are rare, I'd argue it's not always objectively bullshit. Matters the gameplay design. Granted most games are designed so it's not an issue. Please stop posting this nonsense, it is objectively bullshit, period and yes you are, it's your exact argument.
