Days Gone E3 2017 Gameplay

I think this looks great. Can't wait to play it.

For claiming to have such diverse games, Days Gone feels rather generic and familiar compared to other Sony exclusives.

What's the issue then if the others are diverse? One game out of many feels generic and familiar to you. One game...I'd say that's pretty good.

Can't wait for this game. I hope its pure open world and only missions are kinda scripted. I would really enjoy a scary post apocalyptic Zombie infested world where you can roam around on a bike.

Though I see at least a little effort to have a modestly different scenario, I really want to know who thought another damn zombie game was a good idea and inexplicably approved this in the first place. Plus, it undercuts their pre-existing TPS story-based zombie IP, TLOU. Days Gone will be compared 1:1 with it, and it will fall short.
I think some of you live in a different reality where zombie games or the zombie genre is not popular or something.

Np it dopes not cut into anything since they are completely different scopes, this is the first exclusive open world zombie game on the PS4.

Anyone else feel this game might be better without stealth mechanics?

Last year's demo was so intense. It feels like you could easily work the zombies with stealth overuse now

Also feel like the stealth action thing with zombie v human manipulation could be left to TLOU. Was hoping for more of a Dead Rising with a serious angle

It looks like you have multiple ways to acheive a goal. No way is the wrong way

Graphically, the game looks great. Mechanically, it looks pretty stale and derivative. I'm interested but it just looks too similar to other titles for me to really get hyped.

In that reality the walking dead only averages a million viewers an episode.

This did nothing for me.

And they pulled pretty hard on TLoU... I mean they even aped the exact camera work in some instances.

I mean there's flattery and then there's whatever that was.

Far too similar look & feel to The Last Of Us, but it has no chance of being anywhere near as good. Would've liked to see Sony axe this concept and bring more diversity.

It feels like they're missing the mark if this isn't a holiday 2017 game. Marketing stuff makes me think they won't wanna release both last of us 2 and this in the same year, and Sony has nothing else this holiday season it seems other than I guess horizon dlc, so a big dumb zombie open worlder seems like it'd be a good tentpole to shove into the holidays for people to have something to buy a PS4 with. Unless last of us is 2019 or something, I dunno.

Personally I'm more interested in this over lastof us because personally naughty dog games bore me to tears, but considering how busy their 2018 is anyway unless they just had dev issues it seems like the game is just going to be drowned.

It's hard for me to be interested in this. Nevertheless, I hope it's a good game and wish the folks at Bend luck making the cut. ;o

Well, I wouldn't say just one. Another way in that they all feel samey is with them all trying to be these cinematic, scripted spectacles. Even more specifically with the same story tropes being used such as God of War going the Naughty Dog route with having a sidekick character who you'll probably walk around with in every level and hear them yap. There is probably something special about the little kid as well since he can talk to giant water snake gods or whatever. Child plot device!

It's all quite tiring to see all the time.

It doesnt look groundbreaking but that doesn't mean it won't be fun as hell.

Really polished, and great voice acting. I'm excited to play it.

Really not seeing what everyone else is with this one. I was interested last year, but this year's demo seemed to really push the 'Last of Us-lite' angle for me. At least last year we saw something different in having a ridiculously large mob chase you down. This year we got some pretty typical story aspects from a zombie game, with no clear showing of how the open world really works.

We'll see. I still could be excited by this one, but honestly it's trending downwards for me after that showing

A lot of what happened in that demo is dynamic. They just said in the extended demo at E3 you can avoid that rope across the road ambush and approach everything from a different angle. Very interesting,

Yeah, it sounds great. Day/Night cycle and weather states changing enemy behaviour and population, plenty of variety in enemies. Why people are so sniffy about it is kinda mystifying to me. Just the swarms of varying sizes are an interesting dynamic to me.
