Days Gone E3 2017 Gameplay

They can show this game five more times but it still will be uninspired crap. I have zero interest in this game...

Visually the game looks great, got to be hard to have an open world with the hordes of zombies.

Gameplay wise there was some stupid shit like the bear trap part. The Human AI looked just as dumb as the zombie AI. Guy was walking on the other side of a tent and a circle of people didn't even notice. In a world where there are hordes of zombies just running around nobody can notice a biker skulking around 10ft away, they didn't notice the zombie buffet a few steps out of their camp as well. How did these people survive up until this point?

Thematically I hate bikers and everything they have to do with. I previously lived close to bikers and they were a constant nuisance. I wanted to closeline these fuckers off their bikes when they rip down your street with those loud obnoxious exhaust pipes that shook the house and have to be illegal. When the protagonist got roped off his bike I actually cheered. I am sure there are on the level motorcycle enthusiasts but I have no time for these stereotypical biker with a heart of gold archetypes. I would rather play as a female robot or a pirate or a space marine because none of those groups have ever woke me up at 3AM or destroyed my neighborhood with heroine and meth.

You ain't lyin. Preach.

In Days Gone, ambushes are almost never scripted events but are part of a dynamic open-world system – Marauders can attempt to ambush you almost anytime and anyplace. Taking out their camps can make the broken road safer, but that isn’t always easy.

Hype levels reaching critical

I have to agree that the lack of reality in the AI does sort of wear on you. I've been hoping for a game with smarter AI that might provide unique opportunities to outsmart them. Even the fact that literally every single person ran over to the guy stuck in the bear trap seemed a tad unbelievable - you'd think in times like that at least the guy standing guard at the bridge would stay put. But maybe I'm being too nitpicky.

It's been proven time and again the AI substantially more realistic or clever than what we've seen is not

fucking

fun

to play against

We've heard it from so many devs. For countless games the AI had to be toned down because having their strategy and awareness and planning at a high level just gets players constantly wrecked.

That said, distracting enemies like this is deffo getting tired.

looks scripted, how the enemies react, reminded me of The last of us E3 2012 ( which was mostly fake)

the game is trying too hard to be The last of us

This is the 3rd different beard style we've seen on him. Does it grow in real-time? That would be sick. Or by the end of the game he has a Kratos beard

That gameplay during this conference sold me on the game, originally was a no buy when i first saw gameplay in its first reveal.

Doesn't do anything for me, wish they were making a syphon filter game.

Unfortunately, this game does nothing for me either. A Syphon Filter game on the other hand... well, now that would be something.

Now I'm all nostalgic.

I am 100% in agreement with you.

Game looks absolutely amazing in those 4K shots, definitely grabbing this when it comes.
I think it looked bit scripted too thanks to how close to TLOU vibes I'm getting from this, and that's a good thing to me.

I really dont think this will play anything like tlou.

The only comparison i can see people making is the post apocalyptic modern era setting in NA forest... but thats it really.

I think its gonna be closer to rdr/dying light and spidermans on the dynamic gameplay scripted events... havent played horizon yet so it could be similar in terms of gameplay there...

Really excited for this, but i want to see more of it all.

Im not tired of zombies or the setting so ill happily buy it

I liked how in the demo they didn't fire a shot the whole time iirc. I'm guessing you could go full assault which always looks good in a trailer but they chose to show stealth.

Personally very excited for Days Gone but I can see why a lot of people are turned off by it. They really need to give people hands-on with the game asap since it sounds like the game's selling point is how dynamic the world is, which can be hard to convey by just watching a dev playthrough. I think a GoW style trailer would have served the game better then the playthrough they did.

I can see this game being an easy target for internet a-holes though. Feels like I'll be going through another Horizon hatefest until the game comes out.

Wow... The dynamic weather/universe/gameplay is crazy... The snow is amazing

This game might be a late 2018/early 2019 release... didn't realize it was this complex

edit - the weapon system/UI looks similar to Horizon

This is where I think Sony failed slightly... These developers should have been explaining this game at the presentation ..

Really liked seeing them bounce between the Conference demo and the other one to show the differences in the one interview I watched. Showed off some pretty cool different approaches and affects like the weather and so on.

It's an attractive Sony exclusive, so duh.
