Dead Space 2 PS3 Multiplayer Beta Invites Going Out - [Update2: More Going Out 9/29]

Just got my beta code tonight and my initial impressions are not good...
The visuals are nothing special and the game modes seem bland.

I will give it more time only played for about 20 minutes so far.

Couldn't get any games to load, so I went to BC2 and ignored the stress test, sorry guys. :(

Interesting. I think the visuals are actually pretty awesome. Especially the suits. The animations are really good as well. I was playing it in front of a few of my friends (some who consider themselves graphic whores) and were like wow

Wow, codecow, you never stop delivering.

I have been heavily influenced by Ghostcrawler's more recent posts on the WoW forums.

For those of you who have has issues joining games we have patched the server several times during the beta to make things better for people with moderate and open NAT types. The final game will tell you if your NAT type is strict in the front end on every single MP menu (much like COD and a few other titles). We have also added additional error messaging for situations like parties (playgroups) where players have conflicting NAT types. It is a bit concerning that people were having issues last night although I haven't checked the numbers yet.

We're also working on the disconnects and doing testing now to see if we've fixed the issues.

That sounds very good. I have a problematic NAT sometimes and in some games it works flawless, in some not at all. I hope it'll work well with DS2.

that's great to hear.

what i've had to do in order to get into matches during the beta was set my ps3 on a DMZ

If you do anything online with your PS3 it should be set in a DMZ. All your worries are gone, less lag, etc. :D

Does anyone have info whether Extraction will be sold separately on PSN or is it only available bundled with DS2? I was digging around on Visceral/EA sites and couldn't find an answer :/

It's on the disc and it'll be available on PSN.

So supposedly this went up and then down from Amazon pretty quickly.

Since it's not official yet I think I'll just leave it in here for now.

I never got an invite, oh well. The ACB beta is keeping me busy, it's a lot of fun. Though, I haven't gotten a LBP beta invite either... kinda pissed that my + subscription has only gotten me into 1 of 3 betas, and only a slim chance at the fourth (KZ3).

Oh yeah, that collector's edition is official now, and yes that is the plasma cutter. It even lights up. :lol

The Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition comes with:
* Full game as well as the critically acclaimed Dead Space Extraction with Sony Move compatibility [360 version doesn't have Extraction, obvs].
* Isaac Clark’s collectible replica Plasma Cutter. Plasma Cutter is modeled from the new design in Dead Space 2 and features trigger activated LED lights.
* The Dead Space 2 Original Soundtrack. Soundtrack features an hour of music compiled from the score of Dead Space 2. Also included is a Scoring of Dead Space 2 featurette.
* Rare lithograph depicting Necromorph transformation concept art by Visceral Games artist Brett Marting.
* Isaac Unitology Suit and accompanying Force Gun in-game items. Each offer unique advantages to the player when used in Dead Space 2.

And the Gamestop/Amazon reservation is:
Reserve Dead Space 2 and receive a free download of Dead Space Ignition – a downloadable game that bridges the gap between Dead Space and Dead Space 2 and gives you the opportunity to unlock playable features for Dead Space 2.
