Shit yeah, Mord Fustang. Typed too fast for my own good hahaha. He's only got 4 songs out right now, my favorite being either Super Meat Freeze or Lick the Rainbow. If you like that stuff (It's electro house), check out Wolfgang Gartner and Porter Robinson

Deadmau5 is dubstep now? I don't know much about Dubstep, but I don't think it's correct to consider DM a dubstep DJ.

Also, Skrillex is a terrible dubstep artist, IMO.

Deadmau5 is so horrible.

Ghosts N' Stuff was ingenious...but thats it. After that all of his songs were just T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E.

I mean listen to this shit.

Its like he spent fifteen minutes on Fruityloops and called it day. And all of his songs he made after his first single have been like this.

I'm not even a big Deadmau5 fan, I find some of his songs pretty catchy. I prefer his work prior to For Lack of a Better Name. I'd hardly consider Ghosts N' Stuff Genius, Strobe is way better ;). Before you make baseless comments, at least educate yourself a little bit.

Yes there are few exceptions here and there, but in general I find that most of his songs lack serious effort.

EDIT - I haven't listened to his recent stuff, just stopped listening to him about oh a year ago or so when he just constantly released shit song after shit song. So I'm not sure if he's changed over the past year.

Everything he's done since Faxing Berlin has been complete rubbish. And that track was only "ok". Can't believe people are into this guy.
 
I laughed at this news. Deadmau5 is a major twat, so I'm not surprised he finally got someone to snap.

And for the gazillionth time, no, Deadmau5 is not synonymous with dubstep, he's a house/electro(ish) producer.

Porter Robinson is so fucking awesome, I wish I had that talent at his age. I'm seeing him live in June, can't fucking wait! I saw WG live at TAO this year, holy shit I was blown away. He was the best show of the lineup imo :)

Edit: Those songs were sick, really dug the first one especially. The second one went from pretty decent to goddamn awesome at 3:38 :P, the transition back at like 5 min was smooth shit. I'll check out more of his stuff tomorrow!
 
For those wondering why 'Dubstep' was at all mentioned in the OP and didn't read the thread:

- Deadmau5 makes 4 poxy Dubstep tracks
- Trolls EDM industry by winning 'Best Dubstep track' at this years IDMAs
- Is mentioned in the same vein when people who don't know anything about EDM, outside of what they hear on commercial radio, say when Dubstep is being talked about.

He's about as much as a Dubstep artist as Paris Hilton is a legit music artist. Mentioning him in the OP was a bit of a subtle jab at the whole 'Dubstep relation' situation.

It was all downhill after Faxing Berlin.

Glenn Morrison and Adam K and Soha are his contemporaries and they're worth checking out for the good stuff.
 
For those that loved Faxing Berlin, I give you Moonlight Berlin. It may be old but the orginal just seems boring after hearing it.

Edit: I seem to remember it being put together better than the one in the video I just posted. Odd.

Yeah I've never heard anyone refer to him as dubstep? Always Skrillex gets the dubstep label. Which makes me want to punch people. ANYWAY, I like Deadmau5. Does some great remixes and the 4+4 album last year had some great tracks.

As far as I can remember, the only dubstep song from him was "Raise Your Weapon", and it was a good song in a largely garbage genre. Doesn't really surprise me he won with it.

I'm probably the biggest apologist you'll ever find for Daft Punk, but that synth wall didn't help them much making the Tron soundtrack. So forgettable in its entirety, I'd rather never associate them with it.
