There’s two responses that bother me about this, especially on other forums like GameFaqs and ResetEra.
1. Violence is a different issue and unrelated to this one.
No it’s not. There’s material out there which is not being censored which is far more offensive. This hypocrisy means that the butt crack’s offensiveness is NOT why it was censored. So if it wasn’t censored because it was offensive, what’s the real reason it was? I wish they’d just come right out and say “objectification is harmful to women, but shirtless Ryu is yummy” so that everybody would realize what a bunch of fucking morons they are. But they are hiding their stupidity behind something we apparently are not allowed to criticize (whataboutism!). They aren’t thinking of the children, they’re just thinking of themselves.
2. If you want to look at butts, go find some porn.
God dammit. Look at that scene? There’s nothing aesthetically or artistically pleasing. It is distracting as hell and takes you right out of the action. It’s the artistic equivalent to Devil May Cry 5: Jar-Jar Edition. Even beyond the sexy aspect, it measurably creates a worse product that nobody, when given the choice, would choose over the original work. If nobody would choose it, why is the wrong choice being made for us? Why shouldn’t people be upset at Sony intentionally making developers make stupid compromises?
And the worst part is, what if I did go find some porn? But then someone decided to add light beams to their butts too? The exact same people would just say, “lol, just get a real girl”. There’s no point where they are going to go “that’s too far” because it isn’t about the censorship. They just want to feel superior and every time you lose something important to you is a moment of weakness they’ll exploit to boost their own self esteem. If you said you found out your wife was cheating on you, they’d probably go, “lol. cry more” because they are so low and filled with such self hatred that “kick ‘em when their down” is the only time they feel halfway important. Bunch of bitches.
The developers did that on purpose. U could of easily changed the camera angle.
