I liked season 5, I liked that Dex had a legit relationship with someone who absolutely understood him and wasn't crazy. The ending pissed me off though as I was hoping they'd stay together and do teamwork stuff. I really enjoyed the hunt for the rapists and getting revenge for her. It wasn't as good as the previous ones mainly because they used deus ex machina so much that it became ridiculous but it was fun. Season 6 is the one that was atrocious with the exception of the episode where he goes on a road trip with his brother which was great.

Oh God, the road trip episode was horrible.

Why do I think that the creepy intern guy is going to end up taking the fall for everything? Also, I think he might end up killing Deb at some point.

I think of it as similar to the fly in breaking bad. It really has no bearing on the overall story but it's a fun character thing. I really love those sorts of episodes but I know they're love it or hate it. But it was a necessary transitional episode for Dexter.

All of the episodes before it was him doing the am i a bad guy should I become religious, mos def is cool, taking care of my stupid son looking for day care centers, stupid babysitter family life etc. bullshit and then that episode he explodes and does whatever he wants without the consent of anyone. He ignores all personal responsibilities and just has fun. It was the episode I had been waiting for all season.

The fact that the trailers show
the cops finding the blood slide and connecting that with the BHB
gives me some hope that it won't take long for Deb to connect the dots. I mean, the characters on this show have been known to be stupid, but damn.

Yea I rewatched it again and it seems like Deb will probably be detective about it as the episodes go along so there will be cliffhangers and interesting things episode to episode. I was/am mainly afraid of them sweeping it under the rug for 7 episodes until Deb finds some big thing. I want the season to really be Dex on the ropes against the police which hasn't happened since Quinn.

I also forgot about the creepy hand intern guy which hasn't been explained yet and should add something to the season.

Let's see how the Dexter writers take another great concept and fuck it up this year. Excited!

I'll at least watch the first episode just to see how bad they'll the huge moment that everyone has been waiting for for 4 seasons.
Ooh who am I kidding, I'll probably watch the entire season and hate myself along the way.

Sure season 5 and 6 were pretty meh, but at least with an endgame in sight I'm praying the story really tightens up here in season 7. I can't help but be excited, I'm in it till the end!

I don't know why everyone is so certain Dexter is doomed for mediocrity. I know a lot of great shows that have a bad season or two, just a bad phase. Why is everyone so certain this will be different?

Four mediocre to downright bad seasons in a row isn't just a bad phase. It's the series going to shit and never returning. Most people will argue that season 4 was a return to form, but I for one distinctly remember the first 6-7 episodes being boring and bad. It took forever to get going. The dinner scene at Trinity's home was amazing though. Certainly one of the very best moments in the series.

I think S4 is incredible overall.

The dinner scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgsGpDKi0AQ

Only a few shows were better than Dexter back then.

Can't wait until the episode tonight. This and Homeland is gonna make Sundays very awesome. Guess Shotime wanted to keep this episode pretty secret this year. I think this is the first time the first episode hasn't leaked a couple of weeks in advance.

The early reviews for this season have been strong, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Either way, I'll be watching Homeland so I'm watching this too.

Season 2 is my favorite Dex season. Doakes finding out and the sexy psycho goth girl. Season 1 is still the best though in terms of polish/consistency. S3 was fun for stretching things more but ultimately pointless, S4 had the best villain by far but took a while to get going, dinner scene is amazing. 'I should've killed you when I had the chance'

S5 was enjoyable for me doesn't deserve the shit it gets imo, S6 was bad except for incest, road trip episode and last scene. I want them to keep the incestuous stuff in S7 but I doubt it. Deb will probably toss those feelings away now and the show will pretend it never happened but I hope not.

she better fucking not. i did not sit through all those seasons for her to just abandon her true feelings and intentions just like that.

That trailer did look pretty damn good. I mean some of the shots looked really cheesy, but the main story looks like we're finally getting somewhere.

That trailer is making it hard not to get hyped up for this season. Damn. Please be good this season, please.

She absolutely will toss all that shit aside.

I kind of want them to keep that going haha.

Everyone will watch, everyone will hate.

as long as there is only 1 season after this ill watch. Im sick of knowing that they have more seasons. because you know nothing will happen then. Last season was the worst ever (minus the end)
