DF - Control Console Analysis: A Brilliant Game But What's Up With Performance?

There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of performance on base consoles at this point in the generation.

It's the base level of hardware most of their customers will be playing on and something developers should know the capabilities of inside and out at this point.

You can argue that it's simply due to the systems being old and weak, which they are, obviously, but those are the only systems they're selling the game on, so I fail to see how that excuses their choice to ignore those hardware constraints and instead choose to make a game that runs like crap on anything other than a ridiculously expensive gaming PC only a tiny percentage of even PC gamers will own.

This focus on visuals over gameplay and complete lack of care for consumers just smacks of money grabbing underhandedness. It seems clear that the only consideration the publisher and devs had was that it looked as good as possible in trailers so they can trick people into buying it.

Just how the fuck do these game make it through quality control and actually release in the state they are released?

Bad optimization. I mean. the destruction and the physics are amazing, but it comes at a cost, and with this laptop CPUs, that's what we get.

If we were talking about static objects with no physics whatsoever, I'm sure the game could run a lot more smoothly.

how are you gonna put super requirements on your game and then fuck up the optimization

this shit ain't checkers, we were looking to you to push rtx into the great beyond

someone get those programmers some adult entertainment and drugs

People are really asking for next gen console for this game taking into consideration the specs you need to run this in PC?
Guys, PS5 don't have Intel+Nvidia. Wake up.

And THIS is why we need next-gen systems!
