This is misleading.
PS4 version appears blurry/ Xbone version appears sharp outside of DF.
For example, here;
So don't try and imply this disparity is wholly because of DF capture.
The DF capture hosed the contrast. I do not believe for one second that the artificial sharpening was performed by them. I believe the scaling on the Xbox One (which is either the built in scaling algorithm, or a custom software one DICE have implemented) is responsible for the artificial sharpness.
To some people, artificial sharpness looks good. Those people crank up the sharpness setting on their TVs and they are happy. Good for them. As many many many people have pointed out, if you crank up the sharpness setting on your TV on the PS4 version, it will still look better than the Xbox One version, if you're one of those people that prefers artificial sharpness.
I am pretty much overjoyed at this whole clusterfuck. This is really the best case scenario for 'popcorn' enjoyment. A final gasp of hope for the people still holding out hope that the Xbox One will somehow triumph when it comes to multiplatforms, all based on an overly aggressive software AA method softening the PS4 version, and a sharpness filter on the Xbox One version.
And we're completely ignoring that the PS4 version runs at a higher framerate. And we're completely ignoring that in multiplayer the PS4 version clearly looks better than the multiplayer in the Xbox One version...
and the large majority of PS4 games aren't going to need any scaling at all, at least at launch, because we're seeing most games confirmed as 1080p.
now was the time to go 'okay, PS4 is clearly more powerful'. however you feel about sharpness, the facts don't lie. you're welcome to prefer the out of the box aesthetics of the Xbox One version, even if you could achieve something better by cranking the sharpness on your TV with the PS4 version, but the ship has officially sailed in believing in parity for multiplatform games.
If you've clung on to that hope, still, based on this... genuinely I feel sorry for you.
