It was actually on game pass day one.
That explains why I was confused.

Yeah, I totally forgot about. I remember I played when it was released but I was annoyed by the writing. Dialog was cringe at the beginning. That explains why I was confused.

I stopped playing it further for some reason and never managed to finish it.

The Xbox and PC versions are the same, and correct. The PS5 version is obviously crushed to hell.putting your bombast aside. I have to agree about the gamma. I cannot see a single place with true black on Xbox in that footage. That can’t be right.
Yeah, that’s what they did say. .The Xbox and PC versions are the same, and correct. The PS5 version is obviously crushed to hell.
I played the game yesterday on PC, the part where you have to get the train carraige from that station thats like a maze, and it was so dark it took me 40mins to do it, and that was the PC version with the gamma also turned up a bit.
God knows how you could even do that are on PS5 when its as crushed as this.
Also like was pointed out earler, XB1 usually had these darker gamma levels last gen, and anyone who said they preferred that look was shot down constantly.
You cant have it both ways.
It was actually on game pass day one.
The developers did release a patch to fix the crushed blacks on Control. Was mentioned in the patch notes.Yeah, that’s what they did say. .
But they claimed the same thing about Control. Another dark game, and I just couldn’t replicate their findings. The gamma and low light detail was spot on, on PS5
Dunno, maybe it was patched post their analysis. Who knows.
Should have got the PS5 version. Your experience would have been transformative.not trying to be that guy, but i played some of the opening sequences and am not seeing what everyone's raving about. definitely looks dated. the RT isn't anything noticeable when you're not comparing it in a comparison video. i'm on series x. it's a little blurry and textures aren't anything special at all. playing on an LG C8 55 inch OLED on my desk about 3 feet away. am i missing something? going to continue on, but the first 30-45 minutes aren't blowing me away at all.
well, i do have a ps5 also but only had metro on xbox. i'm just noticing that even though resolution is better on the series x, ps5 handles color and contrast and of course framerate better. most noticeably destiny 2 and no man's sky which i play back and forth on both. not sure why the series x has a more "washed out" look on these games!Should have got the PS5 version. Your experience would have been transformative.
I started on the PS5 today and haven't really been impressed either.not trying to be that guy, but i played some of the opening sequences and am not seeing what everyone's raving about. definitely looks dated. the RT isn't anything noticeable when you're not comparing it in a comparison video. i'm on series x. it's a little blurry and textures aren't anything special at all. playing on an LG C8 55 inch OLED on my desk about 3 feet away. am i missing something? going to continue on, but the first 30-45 minutes aren't blowing me away at all.
Game sucks, my dude. I don't know how it became this graphical benchmark for the Digital Foundry autists. It's ugly and poor. But it is a great example of the marketing power of anything labeled Ray-Tracing.not trying to be that guy, but i played some of the opening sequences and am not seeing what everyone's raving about. definitely looks dated. the RT isn't anything noticeable when you're not comparing it in a comparison video. i'm on series x. it's a little blurry and textures aren't anything special at all. playing on an LG C8 55 inch OLED on my desk about 3 feet away. am i missing something? going to continue on, but the first 30-45 minutes aren't blowing me away at all.
Pretty much every AAA game where there seems to be a logo and warning for every little shit. Bethesda games was also a huge culprit of this admittingly with Doom 64.Which games do that?

Dude, what are you talking about? What lies? Please do explain.exposing the lies is now hating. clueless, yes, that's why nobody can denied those facts. garbage for delusional xbox fans because they are talking about reality.
and yes, maybe not banned but they get warnings. censoring is real in here.

They aren't washed out at all if your screen is properly calibrated. On a properly calibrated tv the PC deepened dark looks totally different than the ps5 one. There is way too many lost details in the ps5 version that are visible with the deepen dark command. I will say the ps5 looks warmer and I do prefer warmer but it's not a proper white balance.PS5 version looks better just because of the gamma issue. No matter which one is meant to be 'correct', those washed out tones on the Xbox look terrible. Frankly I would rather have some black crash over that.
The gamma on Xbox and PC looked the same and the gamma slider didn't even work on PS5. Are you saying the only the PS5 gamma was correct and Xbox and PC weren't?putting your bombast aside. I have to agree about the gamma. I cannot see a single place with true black on Xbox in that footage. That can’t be right.
They probably don't have a properly calibrated screen, or a very shitty screen with poor blacks. The gamma on Xbox and PC looked the same and the gamma slider didn't even work on PS5. Are you saying the only the PS5 gamma was correct and Xbox and PC weren't?
Xbox looks totally washed out. I like the PS5 image much more.
Ah right, in that case I'm going to go with that its OLEDs crushing near blacks then, it seems to me like they test a lot of games on low contrast displays during that part of QA. FALD TVs have gotten so much better over the last 5 years and it seems like they don't have any displays like this in-house.
Maybe some companies do that QA in-house and others use contracters who are much more in the know about that kind of thing?
They probably don't have a properly calibrated screen, or a very shitty screen with poor blacks.
do the vinc settings, on the hdr calibration , and bang gamma half way in game.
boom , perfect p5... lost detail?? ffs....
possibility of lost detail , on a shit tv.

Of course I am fond of it. I don't want to pay 70 dollars constantly for games and have to wait 10 minutes between video game logos and going through main menu to load up my game. Not to mention Halo and Forza are coming out soon which has me excited.
Yeah but you mentioned the 70$ price tag so you were definitely talking about this generation. Plus don't you think 10 minutes is an exaggeration for both platforms?
As for the logo and warning some platforms allow you to skip that to improve start up times.
PS5 Lets Players Automatically Skip Studio Logos After First Boot-Up
PlayStation 5 game studio logos no longer appear after players first boot up a PS5 title, according to one user that received a console early.gamerant.com
So I'm not sure what old games like Doom 64 have to do with this generation of games.
On the PS4 you can still see the initial splash screens. Nowhere near 10 minutes even on that platform.
I'm pretty sure that isn't actually true. I see the PlayStation Studios logo every time I launch R&C. Maybe it varies by game.
That's odd. On my tv the Xbox/PC looks fantastic but not quite as warm, and the ps5 is way way too dark. In the church at the end, I can't see a damn thing. It's almost nothing but black. My tv is "professionally" calibrated. The footage is captured via a direct feed source though. Almost all other direct feed footage of games i've seen have not looked this washed out.
I don't doubt that messing with TV settings can fix it, but this would mean changing my TV settings for just one game at the detriment of all others.
SSR cause such issue. Raytracing reflections it's used just on pc.Not sure if this is normal but in my example on the PS5, if I walk to the an area with water and I start panning the camera, I can see the RTX reflections draw into the water. Is that happening for anyone else?
Different color reproduction in sdrI just watched the video and i must admit the box version looks washed out, something is wrong with it, or as thrash gaming suggests it's how df foundry captured the game.
The desert scene comparison is awful, the PlayStation one is so rich in colour while the box one looks like its overly bright.
what is going on here?
The genial Dictator like to talk about complicated tech stuff but seems he is unable to manipulate the monitor setup to improve it.I just watched the video and i must admit the xbox version looks washed out, something is wrong with it, or as thrash gaming suggests it's how df foundry captured the game.

I have a properly calibrated OLED and it's not washed out what so ever. Ps5 does appear warmer though. Ps5 is also way to dark. Zero detail in Shadow. The Xbox and PC footage looks exactly like my PC on the same tv but different input also properly calibrated.I just watched the video and i must admit the xbox version looks washed out, something is wrong with it, or as thrash gaming suggests it's how df foundry captured the game.

FYI You are probably running in HDR and I think the washed out look is due to SDR.I have a properly calibrated OLED and it's not washed out what so ever. Ps5 does appear warmer though.
