I have x570 motherboard and run 480 and 960 gb 3.0 corsair mp510 drives.
These came without any heatsinks (just stickers).
I made a fun test...
Normally both run at 42 and 44c. (hotter one is 480gb between cpu and gpu).
When I stress GPU 100% (3080fe so it goes 80c), the 480gb ssd goes 60c... understandable.
Then I start to USE it and copy 30gb file (just on itself) and the temp after just few seconds goes to 72c, and transfer speed drops from over 1gb to 300...200..100... 3mb/s lol. The drive dies and only recovers when I let it cool down.
so I OBVIOUSLY need a heat spreader on it... I have one from my motherboard so will attach it tomorrow. I don't need to remove ssd sticker, right ?
That is kinda disappointing. I have p600s with be quiet silent wings 3 fans... and apparently I cannot use my pc 100% without it almost dying aside from gpu. 3080fe does perfectly fine at 80c, just a bit loud.
Then I repeated the test with also stressing cpu to 100% and it was 83c, and copying was even quicker to get hot and throttle
