He was not saying that he wishes that Torchlight 2 never existed.
The moment Diablo III releases though, if you love it, you pretty much might want to invest in that as it can even pay off in real money.
I honestly do not see a scenario when Diablo III releases and then I go and..play Torchlight 2 just for fun. Nope. Not until:
1) I have beaten Inferno with at least one characters
2) I have beaten the game on at least Nightmare with ALL classes
3) I get to explore what the endgame means and start on running around just for fun, experimenting with builds...
And do not even mention those rank 14 gems..do not even mention.
And this means that considering a normal day with a few hours of free time, D3 might give people enough content to explore for at least 4-5 months, easily. No point in buying any other ARPG during that period.
I would, however, still buy Torchlight 2 day one if it comes out no later than..end of april. That is a solid two+ weeks of fun.
