Diablo IV |OT| Blessed Mother... Save Us

A lot of that QOL stuff (mount availability, animation adjustments, and skill refinements) has been added over the last few years. It was always "two steps forward two steps back" in terms of what they were adding. The dev teams feels like they are in a much stronger/unified place now that Ferguson has moved on and they have generally made really good improvements to the overall game.

Fleshing out content for end game, removing lots of dungeon restrictions, and make the builds a lot more user friendly has gone a long way with me at least.

It also doesn't hurt they brought over a lot of game systems/content from D3 which has really sucked me back into D4, but this is 100% a personal opinion thing and some folks may think its not hardcore enough now.

I hope you enjoy your time with it (also I think the game looks better on the Xbox than PlayStation..colors feel much better/less washed out and I swear the base rez is just higher/better, I play on Xbox when I am not on PC)!

I've restarted the base game as a fresh character, opting not to do the end game stuff immediately. If the rest of the experience goes as good as my first couple of hours back have been, then I'll just buy the expansions outright too.

What difficulty is everyone playing on? I was on Pentiment, and I kept getting my ass handed to me, so I knocked it down a level. My build isn't "optimised", I suppose.
I always take the same approach.

Normal for cakewalk levelling and learning a class. Then as I near level cap I just bump it up to whatever I can get away with.

Don't we have to make a new character every season anyway?
Yes, to do the seasonal content. After the season is done your character and all the seasonal progress made is moved over to the "eternal" realm (basically the vanilla version of the game with no seasonal mechanics).

Most of the time the seasonal mechanic items (things like the butcher summoning items from the last season) are removed at the end of each season.

Gotta love online only BS. Error code 1016 murder death kills my game. You can't even wait at the menu for a connection, it just closes the game.

Edit: guess it's a me problem. Rebooting...

been having fun. the world is awesome looking (as always) , warlock is really cool too, the fire demon is just gigachad. im enjoying the story for the first time too, well paced good acting, motivations and pay offs are simple and nice.

Hit level 25. Busy with work and after school activities for my kids, so taking it slow. Boss fights so far have been great. Campaign as a whole has been great. Way better than Vessel of Hatred.

Has anyone else had unkillable mobs? I've just come out of the archives and there's a bunch of vine mobs that refuse to take damage. They're not shielded or anything, normal red health bars, but attacks have no effect what so ever.

Oh, that's what the Eternal under my original character meant.

Continuing through the first region, it feels like there's a lot more side quests than the game had before. I also swapped the difficulty to Hard for the +75% xp boost, "Normal" seemed way too easy. But because of that, I'm still in the first region, haven't done any story quest since first entering Kyovashad and am already level 25. I think I'm gonna reach the new Lv 75 cap pretty fast at this rate.

There is one purchase that has all of them. I think it's the 59 usd one.

I moved over to Steam from battle net as well.

Worth it.
Yeah bought. Just about finished up with Marathon for the season and almost done with Pragmata so have some time until the new POE2 league. Will dive in at the weekend after not playing since launch.

Everyone here appears to be enjoying it so seems like a safe bet.

Bramble mobs? If I'm thinking of the same place as you, yeah same. That was the only instance of that I've seen though. Hasn't happened since. It was right next to a story NPC though so I just talked to her and they despawned.

I couldn't talk to her, the little buggers followed me and kept getting in the way so the interact button kept disappearing before I could press A. 😒 I had to run miles and then go back.

Man, it's been so long since I last played that they're giving me the whole CG intro and narrator checks on boot again.
Bro you're gonna have to surrender that tag if you keep this up. This has been the best MS published game of the generation and you've been sitting on it????

Turn in those socks soldier.

What the fuck is wrong with progression saving in this game? I have quit the game and entered and I have to do the whole long ass quest sequence from the start??? Are they fucking serious, these devs are brain damaged.

I started the new expansion and I noticed it had me redo the area again with the mini boss. Oh well, more exp for me. I'm playing a paladin. The environments look real good. I used those attack speed perks on my Druid back at launch. The starting attack speed takes some getting use to. Overall it's been fun coming back. I wish Blizzard would just give us an offline version without all these check-ins. I go and prep dinner and I come back disconnected. It's just a pain in the butt. Plus the game is lost if Blizzard goes bankrupt (doubt that happens).

Maybe if they reverse the MMO crap in D5 but this one is a shared world that you can't even pause. It's funny cause they call Diablo a dad game, but you can't pause to tend to real life shit and then when you do come back you have to redo whole areas. I love that we can pause PoE 1 and 2 now. It was so handy in D3 as well.

I know the game gives a summary of the base game and vessel of hatred. Is there any reason to play vessel of hatred if I skipped out on it before? Outside of maybe wanting to just experience the content myself. Do yall think it was even worth bothering with?

Is it even possible to skip if your account doesn't have it completed? You should at least YouTube the Blizzimatics.

I dipped into D4 again and it feels greater than at launch.

Playing a paladin currently, trying to go after the aura din build.

But my God it's a mess in regards of activities lol.

Also haven't unlocked the horadric cube yet, but the recipes feels like a mess as well

What about the skill points? I remember finding shrines gave skill points or something, but can't seem to acquire them now
That was also removed. There is a similar thing in the LOH expansion where you turn two statues toward a thrid but it doesn't reward skill points. I believe that all of those statue skill points have been absorbed into the season journey rewards.

Doing the Artificers tower, same as the pit but this one is in beta. Im so confused how to get points for the reward, im sure i got 10 for the first clear on torment 1 Tier 11....But just 1 pont or so after that. Well, it is beta so no harm done.

Is the standard edition of the expansion worth it?

I've put over 400 hours into this game, but didn't play the last expansion much outside of beating the story.
If you were able to finish the story last Xpac* you should absoutly love it this time. Also there have been enough system shake ups that you end up almost relearining your previous favorite class builds and options.

Highly recommend.

The only thing you get from some of the high tier packs is additional character and stash slots.
If you are not playing every season and hording shit...those are not necessary.

adamsapple adamsapple there is no Mavel-esq "so and so WILL return..." so I think you will be pleased with the ending state of the story arc.

Really enjoying my time with this. Only played at launch, finished the campaign and played very little endgame. Now i started a warlock and going through the first expansions campaign before doing the new one.
