Did you use to be an edgelord?

Nah I never went for an edgy username and I often felt I was drowning against the tide of things being made darker and more serious when if anything I wanted the opposite. I'm glad it feels less of a trend these days.

Not really, but my very first username when I was 10 was an AOL email address that was something like "DarkGohanSSJ2" and I leaned libertarian from like my senior year of high school to my sophomore year of college, so I guess kinda.

Na. I've used the same goofy gamer tag and user name on almost all networks for as long as I can remember. I'm boring, but I'm no edge lord.

My username comes from a book where a second hand store owner becomes one of many deathdealer's in San Francisco (not as glamorous as it sounds). Normally it's Asher485 but I don't like numbers in my usernames, so I went with Colonel.

I've only ever been three things.

1. A true gamer.
2. A winner.
3. A sophisticated gentleman and atheist.

Played Unreal Tournament under the name big floppy penis. I still think it's funny but wouldn't use anything edgy or silly again.

Since we're kinda on topic... Sony, bring on that psn name change.

As the years passed on, I realized that I had more fun living the edgy lifestyle so I've embraced it with a full heart<3

I live and breathe edgy! I wear edgy clothes, wear makeup, love the aesthetic, like the music, and enjoy things when they're dark and gritty. Oh and I LOVE Hot Topic <3

So I kind of wasn't when I was in my teens, but with every passing year of my 20s, the edgier I get c:

In terms of gaming, this simply just translates to maining Reaper in Overwatch and thinking that DmC is the game where I feel like the protag is super relatable and badass :o

At first I used the name Oblivion but that was taken more often than not so I changed it to Qblivion because lolxdrandum.

So yeah, I was that kind of edgelord.

Luckily, no.

Still stuck with my shit PSN though.

Luckily I never got this bad.

I'm in physical pain

I've never bothered to change my username. The 3 ones looked like claws on GameFAQS or something and I really liked Resident Evil and thought Crimson Heads were cool.

No ragrets

I once saw a guy with the name like XxFata11yFata1xX.

That was Halo 3 and I still hate that guy and his terrible name.

I used the name Breedy McFluff. Not sure if that's edgy, but I giggled.

I'm still using my PSN name of HeMeansBuisness (and yes, its spelt wrong) from the PS3 release era 10 years ago.... And i now HATE it!!! :P

I would only play necro in diablo 2, had hoodies with skulls in them, and satanic email passwords; ugh.

One can't be 14 forever, by 16 I was all about references to classical paintings. The most effective cure for edginess is reaching that age when you are trying to appear intellectual.

All my handles have been pretty tame and I haven't been on many communities outside of GAF. This used to be my [extremely unpopular] avatar a decade or so ago:

guess that's "edgy", but it was more me being a Rosario mark.

Holy shit @ .stillborn, though.

Pretty sure I was a sephiroth or something on some game somewhere. Don't think I was ever edgy enough on any accounts or games that mattered though.
Oh God, remember how many Aragorns and Striders you'd see in multiplayer games?
Sigh. This too dammit.

I was a mall goth as a teenager and my net handle is a Marilyn Manson term. I think I was one of the original edgelords chilling out in IRC chatrooms.

Never. I remember back in 2008 when I was listening to tha carter 3 my white friends were all rocking to that evanescence song that's like "wake me up inside cant wake up SAVE MEE" and even back then I thought it was corny AF

we were playing the new smash bros game and they would turn it up so loud, that shit hurt my ears

I'm a bit too old to have been edgy when online gaming became a thing, though I did have ganjahman@hotmail.com as my first free email address back before hotmail was bought out by MS.

I thought the edgy reaper names were funny, but being new to the twitch shooter crowd thanks to Titanfall 2 has given me a ton of laughs, every second player is killed_by_death or something similarly ridiculous.

Nah. I'm not someone who's lacking enough self confidence to like cool stuff with out labeling it edgy. Nor am I someone who names themselves or spouts fuck shit logic on the net. Nor am I on the edge of some counter culture.

I like edgy characters I guess? But the internet has missed used that word( like this thread) it no longer has meaning.

Edgiest post in the thread.

I dunno, maybe I'm an edgelord. I used Wyre in my teens, and switched to Fleshfeast 14 years ago. What can I say, I love zombies.

I had one of those xX names on XBL at a point.

Ditto.

I kept it for way too long too since they charge five damn dollars to change it.

I AIN'T MADE OF MONEY

to be fair my current on is pretty edgelordy but I've used it for so long that I sure as shit ain't changing it now.

I think liking the aesthetics, or dark macabre stuff is different from being and edge lord if one does not have a "the world is against me, and I love being cast out" attitude.

i wouldn't call a tattoo artist, or a make up artist that loves gore edgelords just because of aesthetics if their view of life is not satisfaction out of being panned for being different.

I used to have a WoW arena team named "we baet dyslexia" back in the day. Never got banned, although that's likely more pure luck than anything else.

As a kid I wanted to play Shadow The Hedgehog because the cover was fucking cool in my eyes. And my first Gamertag used to contain "Lord".
