Because Microsoft don't have faith that Series X is going to sell enough to support a generation of games by it's self right now & hope that they will have enough sold in a few years to support the higher end games & PC ports. But for now Xbox One is their crutch.
But this isn’t Microsoft we’re talking about, so what you said is completely irrelevant. We’re talking about third party companies
choosing to make a game for both the Xbox one/PS4 generation and next gen.
Horizon has shown a lot more than a 10 second CGI though, and we have a first real game to rely on.
If there’s one MS first party studio I wouldn’t be doubting, it’s Playground Games. They have had nothing but absolutely stellar games released. Their games are some of the highest rated games of the generation, right up there with Sony first parties, actually higher than most.
, Xbox has too many SKU's with too many performance targets... XB1 @ 1.3, XB1X @ 6, XB1S and soon XBSX and XBSS... all to be supported.
Xbox has 2 SKUs for next gen, sony has one. Supposedly the only difference will be your game will max out at 1080p on the S but can be higher on the X, since it’s reportedly the same CPU and GPU just with less CUs on the GPU. It’s literally supposed to be a 1080p Series X, so it’s really only 1 SKU for developers.
Why do people on here all of a sudden believe that Microsoft are FORCING all developers to support the Xbox One? It’s complete rubbish. The Series X has third party exclusives at release ffs. Developers don’t have to make games for the XB1.
