Entirely different people behind the hardware and software design. Same is true of Sony, though they got the better end of that deal. Also different people between Dead Rising 1 and 2, which is why the first looked and ran better.Wow, this is disappointing. No wonder MS put embargoes on everything.
It just makes me dumbfounded how MS got so much right with the Xbox 360 and royally screws up the Xbox One.
Some craptastic management.
Those wall textures were pretty bad, but this game is going to be fun as hell either way. As already mentioned in this thread, plenty of other games have had shit frame rate and they're pretty popular, like the Last of Us and GTA 5. But all of the sudden, because we're on next gen, our expectations are inflated, and its no longer ok?
How far do you sit back for 20fps?
This is just pathetic.
When people talk about 720 vs 1080... you know, in the end is not that simple, even at 720p you can get pretty good image quality, with a nice combination of filtering techniques... and then if the frame-rate is 30 fps, but solid, it's not that bad neither.
But this game, this is just a fucking mess, the aliasing makes everything horrible, add to that texture streaming problems and 20 fps and man... it's kind of sad.
Gets upscaled to infinite FPS by your eyes anyway...
On a side note, if the ultra sharpening filter really is a part of Microsoft's scaler, that's another awful blow for the console. It's perhaps one of the worst examples of scaling I've seen in a modern media device. Awful. As in, laughably awful. Literally just looks like someone stretched a 720p image to 1080p, and then added 1000% sharpness in Photoshop.
Holy shit.
Was debating getting this over Ryse, but fuck that noise.
All I can say is Halo 5 better blow my mother fucking mind or this will be my biggest gaming purchase disappointment since the Wii.
With all its rough edges, Dead Rising 3's intended impact as a next-gen title is clearly dulled, but there's enough here to show early Xbox One adopters a side of the zombie-slaying experience that couldn't be achieved on current-gen hardware.
If you played the previous games that also had technical issues, and it seems you still liked the gameplay, then it's the same case with DR 3. They should have done better, but it's Capcom, at this point, you need to keep your expectations in check.
Expecting this game to run at least as well as Dead Rising 1 is not an outlandish expectation. Almost every other game on the Xbox One is running at a better level than equivalent titles from last gen either in resolution or framerate.
This is the same resolution, with inferior anti aliasing and an inferior framerate, and horribly low res textures cropping up, which never happened in the original.
It's not okay for this game to run worse than Dead Rising 1 ran at the same resolution.

it's easy for Microsoft to say that about every XBox One Title, simply because the Xbox360 has no Blu-Ray Drive...

FYI, that isn't Microsoft saying that.
Day 1.
I treat the game the same way I do something like Earth Defense Force. As a game that's fun despite its' technical flaws.

Can someone gif 8:25-8:31?
To be fair to the devs of DR2/3, the first game was developed internally by Capcom and used their MT Framework engine - which IMO is the best engine of the entire generation.
Capcom wouldn't let Blue Castle use it, and the had to develop their own tech. A small dev was never going to be able to come up with an engine as glorious as something developed internally, over several years, at a huge company like Capcom.
Not to excuse DR3 looking/perfoming as badly as it does though.

Wat why would they do that.
Ah, ok. So it's the gamers fault. Got itTo be fair it said road closed, gamers just needs to play within the ruleset of the game.

Which is very depressing given that Dead Rising 1 was one of the best looking launch window games on 360. Blargh. Reasons to get an Xbox One any time soon slipping...720 p 20 fps guys, are you excited for the next gen consoles too?
Imagine where we'll be 4 years from now ? back to 604p and 20 fps?
Those screenshots look fucking vile btw
I can't decide what's worse about them : the sharpening filter, the textures that haven't loaded , the textures that have loaded but that are bad, the grass that is just a flat texture like it's the 90s, the buildings in the background that literally look straight out of a psp game, the complete lack of texture filtering, everything that isn't an edge looking out of focus due to the scaling blur ?
All of it!
This entire game is wall guy...
All the support for MT Framework is in Japanese, and Capcom was unwilling to set up an international support group for their internal engine. The Unreal Engine for example had really sketchy Japanese support for a long time, and the devs ran into all sorts of problems before Epic set up an office in Japan.Wat why would they do that.

It's also unfortunate that the game runs at far from the promised locked 30fps - rather a chugging 20fps during the zombie action while out in the big city.
