Director's Hazard

Filmed at the El Camino bar in Osaka and released with the Wesker's Report 5th Anniversary DVD in Japan.

The participants are:

Shinji Mikami (BIO HAZARD Director)
Hideki Kamiya (BIOHAZARD2 Director)
Kazuhiro Aoyama (BIOHAZARD3 Director)
Hiroki Kato (BIOHAZARD CODE:Veronica Director)
Katsutoshi Karatsuma (BIO HAZARD Programmer)

Mikami and Kamiya need no introduction.
Kato was director of CODE:Veronica, planner on the original Resident Evil, and one of the developers on Vanquish, God Hand, MadWorld and Okami.
Aoyama was a planner on the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 (he also mocapped the Licker), and director of Resident Evil 3.
Karatsuma was one of the lead programmers of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry.

It only took like 14 years for someone to translate this, but here it is. Just select English captions. It's quite an attack of nostalgia and a somewhat entertaining look at the BIO team back in the day, and also gives some behind-the-scenes information (how CODE:Veronica came to exist, thoughts on 1.5, the change of 1.9 to 3, etc).

My favorite part is the fact that Kamiya passes out barely half way through and there's a message inserted apologizing for it.

(also if anyone would be kind enough to point out any mistakes, that would be great!)

Mikami looks fly as hell.

The interview is very fun, even as someone not intimately familiar with Resident Evil. The subjects amp up a little more than halfway through (Mikami and the team almost resign, etc.)

There's also another 7 minute interview with only Mikami filmed around the same time (wearing the same clothes) as he gives his opinions on all of the games at that point, I'll have it done as-well.

We are very sorry but since Director Kamiya got wasted, it became impossible to continue with the discussion. We deeply apologize that Director Kamiya didn't say a word about BIO2. Sincerely, The BIO Team

Fucking :lol

Fucking finally. Been waiting on someone to translate this for years. You know I love ya, News Bot.

It is kind of surprising that nobody else has ever done it... and it was released in 2001.

Oh yeah, the project referred to at the end is REmake. The Castle version of BH4 was in pre-production at that point but directed by Hiroshi Shibata, rather than Mikami.
