As far as I know this is how cruises are around the world. I’ve been on 4 different cruise lines and departed from Australia as well. So yeah you’re not wrong but it’s the standard practice. I have no love for Disney but their cruises are pretty top notch, especially with young kids

If u pay enough, but most average joe cruises you get selection of good food and drinks, but a lot of food is not included, alcohol is not included and some soft are not.
