It looks really fun to me. What do you guys think?

Really wish you could buy just one song and not the whole pack. Activision, you truly are evil.
You can only do that...on the Wii version of the game apparently. I don't know why they don't offer that same thing on PS3/360. I read about them wanting to charge $15 dollars for new (who am I kidding? Two are from COD 4) Modern Warfare 2 maps and now this. Yeah. Not a good sign.

Edit:

Anyone pick up the new DLC yet? I'm getting it on PS3 later today and just wanted to know if it's hard or not. I want a good challenge.

They're about mid range difficulty wise i think. But then it's hard for me to judge anymore!
They're also quite long mixes hovering around the end side of four minutes :)

Bump.

Starting today, they will be selling standalone DJ Hero turnabout controllers.

Here's the full PR:

Santa Monica, CA – March 23, 2010 – Beat junkies, music fans and budding turntablists already rocking the wheels of steel with DJ Hero™ – the number one new videogame IP of 2009 – can now invite their friends to spin along with a standalone turntable controller which is available today at retail stores nationwide, Activision Publishing Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced. Additionally, the first one-hundred thousand fans to purchase a standalone turntable controller will receive an exclusive Shepard Fairey poster, featuring the artist’s unique renderings of the game’s all-star cast of in-game DJs and talent*.

“Adding a second DJ Hero turntable controller to the mix puts a new spin on the game’s social experience,” said Jamie Jackson, Creative Director at FreeStyleGames. “Now living room DJs can go play with their friends and family and enjoy our exclusive mixes in another all-new way.”

In addition to the DJ vs. DJ competitive game modes that give beat chemists the option to battle head-to-head, two DJs can mix and scratch together on multiple turntable controllers, a player can join in to emcee over any track in the game with a mic or, using a Guitar Hero® guitar controller along with a turntable controller, gamers can perform a series of infamous DJ-guitar exclusive mixes, just as many of the artists in DJ Hero have

The first mix is really long and all 3 play really well. Not very difficult, but since they are such mainstream artists, I guess that makes sense.

If this would've come out in the launch window, rather than once the game is being sold off in fire sales it would have benefitted the game much more.

I love the game and was totally shocked when I saw the ad for this new DLC on Xbox Live. Absolutely NO PRESS coverage of this DLC release. Ridiculous.

If I was Jay or Eminem I'd be pissed.

Was there no other new IP in 2009? I would love to hear how this claim is explained.

Disclaimer: I genuinely like DJ Hero. I just didn't buy it.
Well it didn't have to sell as many copies as your average game to be profitable, remember it was $120 a pop.

Didn't Batman: Arkham Asylum release in 2009? Or at the very least Brütal Legend?

It looked like fun to me but it never worked. Tried to connect for about 30 seconds whenever I started a game, then gave up. I assume it's a router issue or something but everything else works so I never bothered to fix it (PS3 version).

It's no fun getting into a match, having to play 8 songs you don't like with someone you don't know, and have them quit at the last minute.

Honestly multiplayer is not this games strong suit, I could have told you that. =\

In the first week or two though, I could always find a game... Enough to get the necessary achievements, at least.

I just hopped on the $40 deal.

Are the songs from the GS pre-order bonus separate DLC or can they be unlocked normally?
That was the first DLC pack, so it was free with the GS preorder or you can buy it separately. I didn't think it was that great anyway.

Think any Toys R Us locations still have it? Thinking about walking to the nearest store and checking, since I can't seem to find an actual number for the damn store.

Wow. The Toys R Us in Times Square is pretty much run by Satan. Most of their games were marked up 5% over MSRP, and even though DJ Hero was marked down to $49, they literally shrunk-wrap two of them together, so you had to buy two units. Eff that! On a positive note, I saw Denzel Washington walking back from the store.

I think you may have seen the packs w/2 turntables. They had a bunch of those at my Toys R Us. (But I did manage to pick up a regular set.)
