After so much news that Nintendo has given, such as the examples of the Mario Galaxy controversies, and some impediments that Nintendo has given, the question is... do you regret buying the new Nintendo console?

What I dislike is that the console's potential could have been exploited more if it were possible to use authentic cartridges.

For me, the only thing that hinders enjoyment are the damn Keycards.

If it weren't for that, the console would have enjoyed a huge success and be better than the original.

This damn piece of trash

Poll needs an "I don't own a Switch 2" option or you'll have people making disingenuous votes just to see the results.

No, it's been my most used console since I have it.

I have literally zero concern about it. I agree that the keycard thing is a valid concern but I don't care personally.

I bet if I had one now I wouldn't regret it at all, but I still think I'd be on PC more. Which is why I'm just going to wait. Right now I want 2-3 games, but I'd rather wait until I want 5 - 10.

No, lol! The poll can't be accurate either. Everyone who skipped Switch 2 will vote yes. Perhaps a grain of salt to should be taken with the results. My reason why I want to keep it is for Nintendo games or games like FFTactics/shinobi/ragebound. Many people do not realize that goty candidate Hades 2 is not on Playstation of Xbox for example but is on Switch 2 and comes out tomorrow. The software is great so far. PLUS it brings my old switch games into the future with like, Kirby upgrade or BotW upgrade and many more. There is little doubt I will get my Fire Emblem upgrades, my Luigi's Mansion upgrade, my Xenoblade upgrades, and we are about to get Galaxy 2 with upgrades for only 40 bucks.... Crazy looking new metroid game is going to be elite. Dude, I'm hyped. Not counting BC(bloodborne), with Hades 2, Switch 2 already has a better console exclusive software than PS5. It'll just get better with the new Miyazaki from software exclusive in the works for the console. If the console wasn't offering so damn much people wouldn't be so upset over Nintendo in general, they would be apathetic. The emotion is because it is good and people wish they didn't want it but they do. What will you do when a game you want comes out? Buy it, is what.

No. Had a blast playing TOTK on it. Glad I waited. Already preordered Metroid Prime 4. Bought Donkey Kong as well. I definitely plan to get that new Fire Emblem. Still gotta play 3 Houses. Hope they upgrade it before I get around to it. Will pick up that Galaxy Collection next year as I've never played those. Will be great seeing them in 4K. Waited to play Echoes Of Wisdom so now I can play the better version on Switch 2. Nintendo always has a lot of things I want to play both old and new.

It's not my only platform, so not really. I really liked Mario Kart, and I had a great time with Bravely Default. I haven't played Dankey Kang yet, though that's on me.

I am stunned that they actually haven't announced much of anything yet, though. The upcoming lineup is pretty dismal, and Metroid Prime 4 looked kind of bad in the last trailer... so I'm definitely not happy with the current direction and I'm hoping it corrects course soon. This is the only console left that isn't just a shitty PC with the same games - Nintendo needs to take advantage of that, dammit.

Played the best version of Botw (on console). Had a great time playing DKB. Going to get to Totk soon. Metroid Prime Remastered as well. Hopefully Metroid 4 is better than the last trailer looked. So far so good. I can't complain.

Definitely yes if I had bought it just for myself. As I got it primarily for the wife and kid, I can't be too mad. But man that thing is real piece of shit, and don't get me started on the actual games.

Hell No, Its my most used console.

I wish more games were ported though and more 3rd party upgrades.
I'd love a KCD 1 upgrade and a KCD2 port. Maybe some dragons dogma2, Monster hunter wilds, Expedition 33, Baldur's Gate 3, etc...
Also a port of oblivion remastered and the fallout games would be nice (aint going to happen).

Currently rotating between cyberpunk 2077, Trials in the sky 1st, Hot shots golf, and puzzle quest.

I have over 200-300 switch games large and small. I love being able to play on the couch or anywhere. Having the freedom is great. I kept my oled too so I can play older games and smaller games on it, as storage is expensive on switch 2.

That is my main gripe, storage. 1tb sd is over $220. where you can get the standard switch1 1tb sd card for $60. Hopefully that drops in time.
It's why I haven't bought street fighter 6 , althogh that $20 is calling my name.. I may just pick it up just to have it for when I get a bigger sd card (my current is 256gb).

No, I play it every day and have an almost overwhelming amount of games I want coming out. I would be fine with it as my only platform at this point.

You wrote NO in uppercase but yes (and the rest of the options) in lower case in the poll. I see your cunning methods to sway my tiny brain.

I feel sorry for the people saying it's their main console. The thing is uncomfortable as all hell, has terrible battery life compared to the first, is only as powerful as a PS4 from a decade ago, still lacks features that consoles had two decades ago, and is basically propped up by a giant library of Switch 1 games which still don't have updates. I bought one the first week it came out and it's basically collected dust since. For the money, the Steamdeck is a far superior handheld.

Yes and no.

Yes because I don't play with it as much as I thought I would.

No because in the times I DO play, playing my games on 4k docked and seeing actually crisp menus instead of Switch 1's blurry mess is a v.tangible improvement.

To me anyone ALREADY regretting needs to pump the brakes a bit. I personally am waiting a while longer for the catalog to grow.

But launch owners for the most part knew what they were getting in 2025 at least. So there isn't a need to full out regret buying it already.

I love it but I think everyone would agree that game key cards are a mistake and should be removed from the market. Nintendo should apologize for this.

I guess the silver lining of prices going up across the board on gaming shit is that I don't feel bad at all for being an early adopter

I don't regret it, but I think I'm an outlier in that botw/totk upgrade alone make it worth it for me

BotW and TotK remasters were enough to keep me happy until DK Bananza dropped, and I'm perfectly OK going back to my PS5 until Metroid 4 drops. It's been a very long time since I thought of a Nintendo console as anything other than a piece of hardware I need to play Mario/Zelda/Metroid. Anything beyond those is just extra frosting on the cake.

No, I do not regret buying the only console that allows me to play GoTY candidates - Bananza / Hades II.

Also the upgraded versions of the Zelda games are wonderful.

Nope, no regrets. Best console form factor ever made imo. I hope they never change it, and just continue to focus on making fun games.

So far I don't plan to ever get a Switch 2. I haven't liked their games enough lately to justify the purchase.
I keep a note in my phone of games I may want to play on it, maybe I'll change my mind if the list gets tempting enough.

Could end up being my favorite system of all time. Loving it so far. I'm definitely done with Xbox and can't see buying another PlayStation after this horrible generation.

*disclaimer; I only owned the original switch for the first 18 months before bowing out so I'm catching up on a lot of Nintendo games that plays and looks better on Switch 2.

Yes and no. I've finished the Zeldas, Kirby and DK, was really hoping they'd give us the patches for Xenoblade by now. It's sitting collecting dust until Metroid Prime 4 now.
