How can I be the only one that's bothered by Diddy riding DK? Am I weird for that or something?Hero of Legend said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Dd6fp3nlc

I'm amazed that Retro actually put jiggies in the game! :lol

I HATE IT WHEN THEY ADD NEW MECHANICS TO GAMES RRRAAAAAAAARRRRRRRHGHHHHGHGHGTeetris said:How can I be the only one that's bothered by Diddy riding DK? Am I weird for that or something?
You are not. Hoverpacks/double jump = lazy platforming.Teetris said:How can I be the only one that's bothered by Diddy riding DK? Am I weird for that or something?
KevinCow said:I don't know about the fact that you can take up to four hits. They should at least have a DK only hard mode.
It's not too weird. DKC2 and 3 both had partner-on-the-shoulders mechanics.

Yeah, throwing I was cool with. If they did like a double jump mechanic where Donkey throws diddy and grabs his tail or some goofy shit it would have the same effect. Just feels weird that you're riding your equal buddy instead of something like in Timon and Pumbaa the difference in size just isn't thereKevinCow said:It's not too weird. It doesn't go as far, but I don't remember Dixie's ponytail being something you could activate at any point of the jump. I could be wrong though.RawkHawk2010 said:I wouldn't call that a double jump. It's just a less-powerful version of Dixie's ponytail twirl.
That's for playing co-op. Similar to SMG2's co-op, it makes the game easier for novices to handle.Dance In My Blood said:You are not. Hoverpacks/double jump = lazy platforming.
Full of ideas and looks extra fun.Hero of Legend said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Dd6fp3nlc

The animation is incredible. I think the game looks better than Galaxy. I'm really liking the level design too, although it's a bit easy but it's not an indication of the final game.Hero of Legend said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3Dd6fp3nlc

Are you doing this to yourself on purpose? It's fairly obvious the hearts will be in the final game.amtentori said:im hoping the hearts are just there for the demos and the final version has 1 hit deaths.
RawkHawk2010 said:Just an FYI, you can hold the Wiimote sideways to play. (ala NSMBWii)
Huh? DKC2 had more items that that and it was the best in the series :/upandaway said:But... why are there so many things to collect? I would've been content with either KONG or the jiggy pieces. But it's both, plus those honeycomb things. As if I follow the reward for all of those is lives?
Yes, and it was the worst thing about the game, too.Vhalyar said:Huh? DKC2 had more items that that and it was the best in the series :/
The KONG letters, Hero Coins, Krem Coins, and Banana Coins.
Scribble said:If no K.Rool, then make Stanley the Bugman the final villain.
How many enemies have we actually seen? How many levels have they shown?ilcane87 said:That could be a good thing... if these Kitis were actually any more appealing than their Kremlings counterparts.
But as far as we have seen, their design is boring and unoriginal, Kremlings were much much better, at least they had personality.

If anything, they would remove the hearts for the demo even if they're in the final game, because they want people to lose faster and shorten the waiting time.

No, they didn't. No, there isn't.Dedication Through Light said:Did they say if there is Gamecube controller support?

Any time Dixie is falling downward through the air and the player has control, you can do her pony tail. You can even cancel out of a ponytail, drop a little bit, and re-initiate the ponytail again at any time.
But you need to have both Kongs. During single-player, if you get hit enough times, do you lose Diddy? I'd guess so since there are times when you start off as just Donkey. It's effectively the same thing as being little Mario and big Mario with the latter affording certain advantages besides just giving you an extra life (in the sense that if you get hit you just become small again).neoriceisgood said:the only thing I do notice is that you apparently don't have to switch who your main guy is to take advantage of the jumping and stuff; so you pretty much get Dixie's flight + DKs strenght at the same time.
Neoriceisgood said:You can re-initiate it? I don't remember that.

Really? I thought it was pretty well implemented.loosus said:Yes, and it was the worst thing about the game, too.
A completely optional aspect of the game is the worst thing about the game?loosus said:Yes, and it was the worst thing about the game, too.

Neiteio said:In single player, can I switch Diddy to the lead character and directly control him with DK following?
Meh, those things are there to pad out the game. But how can you not collect them?ShockingAlberto said:that video is infuriating
IT'S JUST A DEMO
YOU DON'T NEED TO COLLECT EVERY BANANA
KevinCow said:Doesn't look like it. The most you get to "play" as Diddy seems to be having him on your back and making use of his jetpack and popguns.

Eh, I'm not getting my hopes up that you can control Diddy directly. Those blogs may be referring to the fact that you can activate his jetpack and popguns, rather than controlling Diddy himself.Hero of Legend said:
