ofcourse I then proceed to random wisp and get decimated. Ill stick to dragon knight, magic ogre and alchemist. safe that way.

What are you talking about? Wisp is the most OP hero in the game.

If I randomed Wisp and was playing without any friends, I'd repick too. On the other hand, if I were playing with friends, we'd proceed to dominate. No questions asked.

Pudge + Lifestealer = Amazing ganking.

Bounty Hunter and Shadow Shaman on the other team: Heheh, this Pudge is stupid enough to try to hook one of us and 1v2 us, let's murder him.
Lifestealer pops out: SURPRISE!

I had a game once with Stuntman where this was pretty much exactly what we did. I was solo safe lane while Stuntman jungled with Lifestealer. Templar Assassin went mid. As soon as Stuntman hit 6 I would get back so he could hide in me and we could kill anyone. This strategy worked so well all game. There was even a point late game where Stuntman hid in me, TA melded off to the side, and I would solo push mid, trying to attract some attention to myself, then if someone showed up they would be overpowered 3v1.

I had a game where a Lifestealer/Spiritbreaker team did this...things did not go well for us, heh.

What do you guys think of Viper getting only a vitality booster and getting a hood? I think the damage block from Vanguard is pretty minimal on a ranged hero, and hood gives the regen (a bit more than vanguard) and magic resistance that stack with corrosive skin (55% magic immunity I think).

Never thought to try that, I will have to try it the next time I play Viper. I still think having some kind of damage block would be nice, especially if you're going to be doing some farming. Maybe picking up a Poor Man's Shield early might be good to have around. Most of the time you'll probably pick up Slippers at the start, you could either make a Wraith Band or two out of them or just get two and finish out with a Stout Shield for a Poor Man's shield. That would be three inventory spaces filled by the PMS, Vitality Booster, and Hood. Add one for your Boots, and assume you want to keep one open for holding TPs. You can finish out that last space with a Manta. If you went mid you may get a Bottle, and can just sell that Bottle later on for the Manta.

People on /vg/ just told me that plus mek. That since the Nethertoxin buff, you get nice damage without many items.

Sounds good, the main issue is you only have 2 free slots for items then.

Halloween update will be out any year now.

Mek? Not really seeing that one on Viper, you'll generally have a support on your team getting that anyway. Viper's a carry, he has a right to farm and get some expensive items. You need some damage on Viper too, which is part of the reason I like Manta on him.

Mek is used by Dignitas.Aui on his viper. Its possible on viper because he doesn't need damage items to do insane damage, he just needs survivability because his health is really low. Mek is also used on Outworld Destroyer and was used on Meepo.

I don't like naked vit booster because it only builds into three things which are mediocre on viper (atos/bloodstone/vanguard). You're better off going point booster for an aghs later (godly on viper) or drums which gives about the same amount of health and awesome stats/active.

edit: Forgot about tarrasque, which is useful on viper. It's not the first luxury I would build on him though.

oh god i just played brew master for the first time, hes so good. what are some charc that can easily shut down a brew master?

Anyone with silence or long timed disable. Lion, Rhasta, Nightsalker, etc. Generally, if you are able to kill him before the split, then he's not that big of a problem.

Silence/hex fuck him up good. Unless you are already tanked as hell.

I played a game with him, and since I had a good start (wicked sick streak) they started shutting me down with all kinds of disables. I learned that positioning and timing is pretty necessary on him.

I can see Mek on Outworld Destroyer and definitely on Meepo (I've gotten it on Meepo every time I've played him). Never would have thought to get it on Viper though.

Also, am I the only person that thinks Silencer's new Last Word is maybe just a little bit overpowered? Yesterday I had to go up against one as Huskar and it was a fucking nightmare! He kept spamming Last Word and I could hardly do shit, especially since Huskar only has one "spell" that counts as proccing the end of Last Word, and early game that pretty much depletes Huskar's mana pool. Not only that there was the ridiculous damage nuke, and if you DON'T use the heal, you're completely disarmed and a sitting duck! Even someone that has easily spammable spells with short cooldowns (Shadow Fiend, etc.) would have a hard time with this because of that damage, and bam, you're harassed out of lane. Then you throw Curse of the Silent on top of that, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that noise (no pun intended). The only real logical counters I can think of this would be things that remove you from existence during the time that the end of Last Word would proc and disarm you. Of course you have to be counting the seconds in your head (I can't remember if it shows the debuff time border or not) and use Puck's Phase Shift, Outworld Destroyer's Astral Prison, or Shadow Demon's Disruption, and you still have to time all of these right. Actually, hmmm, Shadow Demon might be the Anti-Silencer. You have to keep the Shadow Poison up, and Disruption when you need it. You can stick him in any lane too...

thanks. i kinda built an aganims early on so i would ulti in the trees then jump out and mash skills. plus the other team had no stuns and a fed razor.

kinda made me wanna play razor again.

Oh I see they nerfed centaur.

I was to be expected, with my bro we did a godlike Centaur+Vengeful Spirit safe lane, stomped unchallenged for 10 games straight. VS and Centaur are like made for one another, even with the nerfs it'll still be one of the most powerful combo I ever played.

Swap, stomp, wave of terror, double edge, magic missile, and most offlaners are already dead before the last magic missile. We just don't give a fuck if you have an escape mechanism.

Silencer is there to counter heroes like Huskar. Husk can dominate lanes as well if he's allowed to by the hero picks.

New silencer is pure troll though. I love it. Can't get enough. I've found 1 level in glaives, 1 in last word then max curse is a really fun lane-trolling build. LW->curse is so much guaranteed dmg and lots of mana drain too.

If they cast right after you LW them you'll be in close range to curse. If they wait it out most of the time they'll be running away so you can smack them with a few glaives before cursing them. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. I love it.

i've had a few games with new drow and she's amazing.. just totally pub stomping with her. tend to get bracelet + healing pot and mid, then band of elvenskin, boots, haste = power treads, another bracelet, wand, yasha and manta. obvs it's a pretty common build, but by the time i have that much agi i'm able to solo 2 dudes at once.

Just want to throw in one more word that if you guys haven't tried Silencer since the changes, you really should give it a shot.

Just had a game where this queen of pain constantly underestimated early game dmg and kept coming at me 1v1 in mid and dying, over and over. Stole a total of I think 66 int by the end of that one.

Such a fun hero.

Where do you guys go to watch high level pubs? In particular, VODs? I can't catch them live usually because of my time zone.

Silencer actually sounds fun now :O

Going to try him out.

He's a ton of fun. Build Orchid on him and you can keep an opponent silenced for about 11 seconds, while they're taking tons of damage from Curse and Glaives, and they take another huge burst and disarm from Last Word proc.

I have a lot of fun with him against Pudge mid now, he shuts him down even harder with the new active.

Friends and I were just about to come back from a sad, sad early and mid game last night. Just kept getting owned by a drow the whole game. I was pushing down their fucking racks, going for the gg. Then power goes out from the storm. I'm still salty about it >:I

Had an awful, awful game last night where we had a guy pick Juggernaut for our team last when we already had a DK, Sniper, Treant (me) and a Bane who had said he wanted mid. We were all asking for him to grab another support/utility hero.

Already too carry heavy, this guy refused to let us switch up the lanes so Bane could go with him and I could go with Sniper, and DK could mid. We all agreed it was a bad idea to have two carries in our hard lane but he would not listen to reason and said he would "ultra-carry so it didn't matter." DK and I ended up laning against a PL and Jakiro, which sucked so much until Bane could start ganking.

Proceeds to go 0-3 in the first 10 minutes, he and Sniper fed the enemy Centaur so hard. After dying those three times, he still wouldn't move into a safer lane and spent the rest of the game in our jungle, slowly making it to level 10 before giving up. He'd hang out in the enemy jungle or in the fountain saying "it's been over for a long time guys just let them end."

I usually don't report people just for being bad - everyone has crummy games and it's obvious when someone is just being an ass and trolling to throw the game or something. But this guy just pissed me off so damn hard for not caring to listen to the rest of the team and absolutely losing the game for us from the pick phase and doing nothing to help against the disadvantage he decided to give us. Can't stand when people aren't willing to listen and work as a team. You'd think after 300+ games someone would know the basics of picking a workable team composition.

What makes that story even more ensaddening is that he could have actually geared his hero for utility. Healing ward Pushernaut!

I should have suggested that, but I doubt he'd have listened. :(

Love lv1 Healing Ward juggs. I need to play him more, I've only got like 3 games under my belt.

Played Lycan for the first time since 6.74. His jungle is completely shot and Roshing early is a lot trickier, but he's still quite good. Once you get a Medallion, no one is going to sit around and right click your wolves anyway, so mid-game the only thing that gets hurt is your pushing power.

Went in the easy lane and skipped Wolves until 4, and didn't bother summoning them unless I needed to scare off an attempted gank. Early Howl+Feral Impulse makes last-hitting a joke and I still hit an 8 minute Vlad's (though a 17 minute Rosh).

I have tried out a similar thing. Started in lane and went in to the jungle at level 6/7 with a ring of basillius and morbid mask (and quelling blade). At that level if you just have lycan tank he takes almost no damage and you can farm pretty fast. From there its quite similar to pre nerf lycan.

Goddamn, triumph really needs a cocaster. I've lost track of the times he has had his camera sitting over a ganker or gankee 10-15 seconds before it happens, and then he flips to some random corner of the map and misses the entire thing. Sometimes he never even realizes it happened.
