Hey guys, I bought some new outfits and I'm getting glitches with the new Drow Sylvan Guard set:
  1. she isn't turning invisible when item skills are used
  2. her clones are not blue; only their faces are solid blue, not translucent
  3. her bow string during character model view is attached to the pedestal
  4. her pauldrons in her portrait seem to have no texture as well as clipping issues

  • Anybody here having similar issues?
  • What is the best way to report such an issue to Valve?

So many deaths, though. Meepo did better. 19 deaths in a game from one person is... yeah.

That reminds me, if you kill a Meepo with a Divine Rapier or Gem, does the DR or Gem drop at the Meepo that was actually killed's position or under "Meepo One"'s position. I'm just thinking if you know one Meepo is in trouble and can't get out, you can just TP the main Meepo back to base and there you go, safe DR and Gem.

Since only the main Meepo can actually carry items it'll drop wherever that one is. The others have the boots "propagate" to them but they don't have any items on them. So, it wouldn't make sense for a Meepo clone to drop an item. This means that, yes, you could warp back to base to save the item.

So I've had the beta for a long time but I've never played mainly for the fact I have no clue what I'm doing and don't want to ruin someone's game. Any other people that suck that want to play with me let me know.

Fuck bot games. Play one or two and watch a guide on YouTube to learn the basics, then just get in there. The sooner the better. You're gonna ruin people's game when you go live anyway. Just go into matchmaking, pick a ranged support hero, type "first game, sry" in the chat, listen to the sighs, go into a lane with some one else, play really defensively and try not to take the retards coming down on you in the chat too seriously.

- Six damage instances disables it. Just as with Templar Assassin's Refraction, heroes like Dark Seer, Venomancer, and Axe joining a gank can help blast it off almost as long as it has been up on a hero.

Actually, no. Since it's physical damage block DOT damage doesn't burn through it like it does refraction.

There's certainly a valid arguement here, but it takes time to learn the nuances of how each hero works in this game. Bot games give you a chance to learn different heroes in a relatively stress free environment.

Or, you know, you can just play them for fun too. My friend almost never plays anything besides coop bot games because he doesn't have the time to really learn the game so he likes to just jump in and play a coop game or two when time permits. People in DOTA tend to freak out when you make any kind of mistake, so it's definitely daunting for new/casual players.

you guys don't think some of the items sold on the Dota store are expensive?

They really are, but its not like I am forced to buy any of them. Though I did have a bit of money for new items on the side, but saw nothing I wanted at a price I wanted to pay.

People here actually buy things from the dota store? Well then again the game has no form of currency aside from keys so I guess there's not much lee way in trading. Hope that anvil gets put to good use.

I've probably spent about $70 or so on DOTA 2 - various cosmetic items, tickets for tournaments (watching them in the client is so convenient it's worth it to me), and keys for treasure chests (I'm a sucker for those).

I'm lucky in that I have a lot of disposable income, so the money I've spent on items doesn't bother me. In any game I play I enjoy having my characters look cool, so it's no different for DOTA.

The prices on some of the items is definitely terrible, though. I don't think a purely cosmetic item should be like $8. Prices should range from $0.99 to maybe $4.99 tops.

Sure, sure... But it's so easy to end up in a situation where you simply don't dare to play against other people because you've hyped up so much in your head. This happened to me in SC2 (and a lot of other people I know too).

The best thing to do however is to play with someone who can show you the ropes.

In my very limited experience I've found early MM games easier than playing against bots, simply because when you are starting up, your enemies are as bad as you or more even. Also, people rage in bot games too for whatever reason, and quit early much more often. I've played with some gaffers and have good experiences in MM, where I certainly feel I'm learning a lot.

Regarding the cosmetics topic, I've only bought a couple of pennants so far, and will probably spend no more than $10-20 on items. I agree that, when they have 100+ heroes, each with 6+ possible different item slots (+ couriers and consumables) and a shitload of different items, having stuff cost $5+ per slot is a bit excessive. I'll just make do with drops, I like the regular designs a lot anyway.

SO guys I heard its cool to make generalizations about Russians in here.

I've come to the conclusion that Russian kids play more PC games than in Europe or the US (where they are more into consoles). PC gaming being more of an adult (or geeky) thing in the West, thus creating this huge gap in attitude and general maturity.

I could be wrong, but it kinda make sense to me.

I think I've spent like $15 on pennants and tickets and such.

And I play bot games---and am likely to only play bot games because the thing that I've always found in any competitive multiplayer games is that I enjoy the consistent level of difficulty that bots provide. The ups and downs of mm games in every game make me bonkers because I have a hard time figuring out if I'm getting better.

When you're vsing better players, you know you're getting better.. that is as long as your k/d doesn't get substantially worse.

The prices vary too much for my tastes. Why is a full set of the red Invoker armor $2.50 while that same $2.50 isn't even enough to get you a single piece of some of the "rarer" head pieces?

I know they're trying to build demand by attaching rarities to anything and everything, but it seems quite arbitrary and off-putting to me. At this point I'm wondering when the next sale is, just as I did with TF2... by that logic I'll be waiting a while though :(

Even with all the buffs, Batrider is still the 3rd least picked character. Also, Bounty Hunter has over Taken Invoker as the #2 most popular pick.

Dotabuff now has a page for just 6.75:
https://dotabuff.com/heroes/played?date=current_patch

Treant dropped like a brick, which is unsurprising. His new active is better only when trying to save a single person from a gank, while the old one made people across the board harder to kill. Its going to be great for pro games, but for pubs it just sucks.

We've already been talking about that page a few pages back, but yeah, weird to see Batrider so low still, he's being first ban material in pro games.

Who's ready for Centaur, Slark and Windrunner cosmetics this week? :)

Keep it a secret.

Had a fun match with AA, despite being comically underfarmed (I spent all my time buying wards, I swear).

https://dotabuff.com/matches/47656012

Had some nice fountain kills, kept the place warded (or tried), and my team played smart so we managed to win the war of attrition (for some reason my AA matches take forever, maybe because I'm not helping.) He's not my favorite support hero, but his ult is very satisfying when it hits.

What's the deal with Steam/Dota 2 in China anyway ?

Last time I heard, valve were still looking for a publisher or partner in the the region.

SO guys I heard its cool to make generalizations about Russians in here.

And Brazilians, always weirds me out.

I have played most recently on the EU and US east servers (since I moved to Berlin). I must say, the amount of russians and brazillians who play dota 2 in aa non-team like fashion on these servers is quite high. A generalisation indeed, but with a bit of truth to it. IMO, don't be so offended, no one here has attacked russians for being russians, just laughing at the general pub play of some russian players.

Be cool brotha

Why? It makes no sense to be told that you're being charged.

It makes perfect sense. A global spell that is relatively low cooldown, gives you max speed, access to the entire map and a decent stun at the tail end of it should have some type of weakness.
