Those games. Those games with 2+ Russians, and I, the Crystal Maiden, ends up more GPM than the Riki, Viper, and Invoker on our team. (Other team way outleveled us by the end). We started off something like 6-0 too - it was a good early game, and then the carries tanked it. Had a Spectre as well that was doing decent, but not enough to face a whole team of carries (SD).

Not too miffed though, since I had a good game as Phantom Assassin right before it.

Today has been the worst day of dota i've ever had. All the complaints I've seen around I've been blessed to say that I hadn't really experienced or didn't find it that bad. Suddenly today I've been copping it all directions. I've had people on the other team reporting me for 'feeding' when I literally had 1 more death than him on a team that was getting dominated. I've had the highlight reel dota 2 symbol pop up during the middle of a game multiple times, that same game my ping was like 600+ and nigh unplayable which of course prompted lots of abuse from my teammate. Of course there was the non-english speakers which wasn't so bothersome but in combination with people playing their first game while everyone else had 150+ wins (I know games don't mean everything but he was very very new to the game) I just don't understand why they'd get matched up with other people like that, tbh he wasn't that bad and he seemed keen to learn but there were times when we'd initiate and he'd just watch, wait for us to die and then start fighting afterwards.

Just frustrated :( I guess I had it coming, was on a massive win streak for a while before this and felt untouchable only losing games with some mates which is just for fun and don't take it seriously.

I keep getting matched up against Naix. He's so good at level 3, going rage and tp'ing out means he's basically immune while farming any lane solo at any time.

So Jakiro's ice path actually goes behind him. He laid out an ice path, I thought it was my chance, so I blinked right behind to unload my fiery Lina goodness on him. STUNNED.

It certainly does. I gave away firstblood by "dodging" ice path by running behind jakiro on a melee hero. I was mad. Isn't the ice supposed to come out of jakiro's icy head, not the tail?!

Still so odd to me that Jakiro went from zero to top-tier with just one patch. I don't really like the hero, so this kind of bugs me. The tweaks weren't that large either!

The new Ice Path was a massive change, bro. It's one of the best area denial spells in the game with virtually no mana cost and a 9 second cooldown.

Since when did "Mouz" start playing so well? I haven't paid much notice to this star ladder but they seem to be doing really fucking well.

If they made Jakiro's ice path scale mana cost, something like 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 I think it'd be more balanced than it is currently (godlike)

I keep hearing people referring to Ice path as a better Fissure, which is interesting because I don't think I've seen ES in pro games ever since the patch hit.

Can you guys recommend some good written guides to lane control (have IT issues at work, so might as well learn something)

Fissure can fuck up your teammates, only the initial hit stuns and has a slow casting time. Ice Path is faster, stuns during all the duration and doesn't fuck up your teammates.

It's basically better than Fissure, I'd take the fact that it stuns anyone who touches it for the duration over the slightly faster cast time and the longer area denial of Fissure, which also takes better timing and skill to pull off without screwing something up. Earthshaker don't got nothing on JakJak now.

I dislike game design that forces this kind of meta choosing on average (hey its a moba, I know!). Even then, ES still has some competitive capacity.

I think he is a good undying counter pick. His echoslam negates and turns the opposing tombstone against the other team.

Not that meepo really needs a counter, but... yeah, meepo as well.

Yep, there are definitely still situations where ES would be a better pick than Jakiro. But in terms of their stun ability, I'd say Ice Path is much more reliable than Fissure.

I like bdiz's avatar in that picture.

I've been out of the loop for awhile, when did they switch team members? Last time I remember it was on reddit and bulba said that he had no idea about the switch and that was the first he had heard about it, they were also denying it a ton.

edit: NVM, looks like someone trolled the dota 2 wiki page for EG.

Bulba/Universe left though, rumor says maelk/demon/fear blamed them for their poor showing at ti2. Bulba went to col, universe went to quantic, although both of those are liable to change.

Wow that really sucks unless those accusations have ground

How did Empire do yesterday? Will this be their first loss since that crazy streak they were on?

So it is true. I had checked EG's page and they still have the same roster, so that's why I thought the wiki was trollin me.

I didn't think they were THAT bad at TI2. They lost to the winners of the tournament, and their games were pretty good.

i just got a dota 2 beta invite to send to a freind, would anyone here use one?

yeah, I thought EG did pretty decent.

Yeah, the only real change I think they need to make to Jak is increasing both the mana cost and the cooldown on Ice Path. Its a great tweak to the ability, but its basically spammable now

Yeah. It's not broken but ever since the change I've felt it's a little too good. It's almost instant and stuns for the duration which is a HUGE difference to just adding one of those buffs. A logical downside would be scaling mana cost and cooldown, I'm not really sure how it got through without some negative change with how fucking strong the buff is.

Man, I'm still hyped from reading all the Halloween stuff from Cyborgmatt. I missed Mouz/GD today, did they win? I think they did. Saw navi getting whooped by skane/pulse though, damn.

See, if that was a pub game I was playing in we'd be forced to wait through twenty minutes to half an hour of them systematically destroying our racks, occasionally going to Rosh for the lols and generally screwing about
