I am confused. Coulda sworn the aura doesn't actually work on catapults (checked in the test client for it and didn't see an icon, hmm).

sorryslut messing up everyone's games. >:c

I bet you have a hundred 109
Lets just say I disconnected about 8 times today.... Some games were played with friends while others were games with total strangers that I disconnected from during some point of the game. and here's what happened:

there we go. I have a 7 day long low priority/ game points penalty. Whoops, I didn't realize the precautions would be that bad anyway. It's not like it really matters much anyway, as I am still very green to this series and I play pretty badly anyway.

But let this be a warning to those of you who are just getting into the game as well.
:O

Welcome to Dota hell.

Definitely works on catapults

That's probably a combination of abandons+reports. I've got 7 abandons and I might have been in low priority like once and it was only 24hours.

Centaur Warrunner can go fuck himself. Picked in every game. Stun/Instakill in every game WTF! Please tell me this is getting tweaked.

Yeah Dota isn't like other multiplayer games where you can just quit whenever. If you play, make sure you have an hour to kill because there's not getting off. It's like a roller coaster. Once you're on, you can't just stop whenever, you have to ride it all the way out. Also similar to Dota, it makes you either have a lot of fun or want to vomit.

Oooh I quite likey Leshrac, just played him in a single draft game. Excellent against groups of enemies if he can stay alive long enough to get his hits off.

I don't think Centaur is insane. Drow obviously needs her aura tweaked to avoid truly broken things like +150 dmg siege weapons, but Centaur is, IMO, okay as is. Maybe 75 mana to ult and a 10 sec increase on CD would bring him to a more 'balanced' area.

There are plenty of existing heroes in Dota 2 that are strong, or stronger than Centaur. This is always the case with new heroes. You just need time to figure out what to do when they're around.

I personally have more a problem with things like buybacks being so cheap that farming heroes (like Furion) can buyback about a hundred times a game. I liked HON's buyback limit - it may be too harsh for Dota, but an increase in the time or level multiplier for buyback cost would certainly make me happy. Heroes that can make buyback gold back in time for their CD have a big advantage because of it.

Not sure if that's a common perception, though.

What the hell is going on in this game? The more I play, the less people know what to do! My last six games have been all the same:

- Pickup: two-three carries from the get go, the remaining two players play a tank and a support or another carry and a support (being me the support in all cases).
- I babysit my carry, I give him farm and get assists so he can kill early game and grow fast.
- Mid game comes, I have really low farm, just from assists.
- My team is feeding like crazy, once lanes are broken and I've left my carry go farm by himself, he starts to die, and all people start to die, really, and I am the only one that seems to kill enemies with my laughable farm.
- We're beaten to a pulp and I end up with more kills than any of the carries in my team.
- Next game comes and is all the same

After these games I'm like: how can you kill just two people with TA or QoP or AM or Jugger, or Storm, or Sniper (being all enemies melee)? How can you reach lvl 35 and still buy boots as an starting item?

Forced 50% win/loss rate. Basically win a bunch then be forced to have terrible players to help you lose if you don't have anyone else with you. Almost impossible for me to hold onto my win streak at times.

Searched for an invite thread but couldn't find one. Just wanted so say, that if you got an invite and you're not sure what to with it, I'm here for you.

And since I go way back with DotA, I'd raise the overall skill level, so less frustration online! Win-win! ;)

Buyback has been nerfed considerably already from the state it was in when I started playing Dota. You used to have no cooldown on buyback at all and I think the cost didn't scale with the length of the game either. In professional games, players used to save up instead of ever buying items in the late game. (there's a famous clip of YYF (playing Storm Spirit) buying back multiple times in a row and getting an ultra kill) I think it's fine as it is right now, but I never played HoN so I can't really say if I like their model better.

Yeah, I used to play Dota in the old form, but since it was never a standalone game it didn't seem like there really needed a fix for wonkiness like buying back and getting rampages. I just kind of accepted it as it was.

In HON there's no timer, but you can only buy back three times (or maybe only twice) per game. That works for that game because they try to get matches over and done with quicker, but may be too harsh for Dota. Still, I'd like to see it be more expensive.

Centaur nerf incoming

Stampede cooldown increased from 65 to 100/80/60
Stampede duration rescaled from 3/4/5 to 4
Stampede damage slightly reworked from 100/150/200 + 2x str to 1/2/3x str (no base damage)
Stampede manacost increased from 50 to 80

Still think this spell being global is the most broken part.

Maelk's stream.

IMO, if he's not willing to remove global, the manacost needs to go way higher than 80 if he also wants to also buff the cooldown at level 3. The low cooldown is the biggest problem in the first place.

The 1 second warning thing is good for when his ult is the best, the early game. I like his ult and I don't want it nerfed too hard, so I'd rather play around with the changes before saying they aren't enough.

Every time something gets tweaked I just have to find a new favorite OP hero ;_;

One thing I've noticed is pudge is rarely tweaked. If you want a stable hero pudge is the definition . He's not op but he's still strong in the right hands.

Invoker is your second best bet.

Invoker has been hit by indirect and direct nerfs these last two patches, you know.

I know, that doesn't stop him from being one of the best picks for quite a few versions.

They definitely made a difference though. I was missing Ice Paths left and right last night =(
They actually nerfed that? I felt like it was pretty obnoxious to have to expect a spray of ice every time I ran in towards Jakiro when laneing against him, but I never thought it was over powered. In fact, Jakiro always seemed rather weak to me.

What's wrong with boots as a starting item? It seems to that it helps to chase down/escape enemy heroes, and is good for when you want to jump straight into something like Arcane Boots.

The new Ice Path rocketed Jakiro from never-picked to consistent first pick/ban. Well, Dual Breath got a bit of a buff too, but it was mostly Ice Path.

I still don't understand how is that reworked Icepath turned THD into high priority ban/pick hero. He was awesome even without this OMG 100 DAMAGE buff, IMO. And now his AoE stun is just nobrainer; you can't miss it if you're Pyrion Flax.

Won 10 out of my last 12 games. Feels good. Maybe one day I'll get to .500. One day...

Jakiro's Ice Path is still pretty crazy. Getting a Huskar who was mid jump with it is so satisfying.

I haven't been in a match yet where Centaur has lost. I tried him and didn't set the world on fire, but he is great for team fights. Our team was Centaur/Dark Seer/Drow/Spirit Breaker/Lich, so we had so many slows and hastes that no one could escape.

Also, it's amusing how you can pretty much guess the personality of the person based on the character they're playing. Especially Bloodseeker. Especially "carry" Bloodseeker. With a Force Staff. I was Zeus in a game with one, so you can imagine what polite things he said to me.

IMO he was heavily underrated before his change. He had a lot of teamfight and pushpower before which is AMAZING for a support, and now he just got even better.

I honestly cannot recall the last time Invoker was picked in a competitive match post 6.74. TA and Batrider did more to push him out of the scene than a 6 base damage nerf.

LGD have picked him recently, but they've also been playing with pretty much the exact same lineups (except Morphling, maybe) they used at TI2. Also, it's a joy to watch iG play. They have adapted to 6.75 really well, picking BH, Sven and Night Stalker in one game, for example.

It's not the 100 dmg buff that makes Ice Path so good now. It's the fact that any time during its duration, it stuns for the duration to anyone who touches it, and it comes up almost instantly (where it had a rather significant delay before).

Also, it's actually a stun now, where before it was an interrupt and immobilize, like Crystal Maiden's W, I believe.
