counting down until Centaur nerf.

he's bullshit atm.

Those changes will not put him down in the slightest. Double edge is way too good. They can remove the damage from stun and he will still be too good.

Finally, a hero besides disruptor to deal with all the bullshit in this game. YOU WANT TO RUN? TOO FUCKING BAD

every game I hear windrunner crying Hit r to win blah blah. Ironic considering shackleshot is so balanced!

They let the naga/rubick/morpling/invoker meta rock for so long, yet they complain about a melee hero putting them six feet under in 20 mins. Whatever Icefrog.

what changes are you referring to when you say, "those changes"? I didn't mention any specific changes myself and haven't read the thread. Have some changes been proposed? My understanding is that Centaur wasn't a big Dota1 pick until this new ult remake but I don't know since I didn't play Dota1.

Got matched up against a team with both Drow and Centaur today (along with Sniper and Rubick)

...it was a massacre. The nerfs can't come fast enough.

I don't understand how Centaur made it into the game in his current form. I have not played in a single game where the team with Centaur on it lost. It's not unusual to be permanently stunned when going against him -_-

I beat him once with PL.

but I promise, damn near all 5 had to focus him down and he had about 30% less farm than me or Drow. Shit is ridiculous. Worse than Lycan ever was.

Centaur's supposedly being nerfed on the ult, it now operates on like a 100/60/40 cooldown, mana cost is increased, and duration goes from 3/4/5 to just 4

And will it be enough? I feel giving every person on your team max movement speed + phase + stun is crazy. I have to admit I know nothing about balance and less about Dota, but playing against him feels like complete bullshit.

I really didn't find Brad's ult to be that over powered later in the game, but I guess the numbers speak for them selves. Only got to play a few games with him so far, since I am out till Monday. The early game nerf should help him not snowball in the early game.

After playing TF2 Halloween for a while...

WHERE IS DOTA 2 HALLOWEEN

The Essences for its Halloween stuff Expire on the 11th (Or did, there was strings in last weeks update saying so). The TF2 Halloween stuff expires the 9th.

My money is on Monday.

I still don't understand how is that reworked Icepath turned THD into high priority ban/pick hero. He was awesome even without this OMG 100 DAMAGE buff, IMO. And now his AoE stun is just nobrainer; you can't miss it if you're Pyrion Flax.

Becuase the ice path doesnt have a stun delay like it used to and it still stuns if you walk into it after the ice is formed. Also the aoe is bigger i think.

What do you guys suggest as a good hero to practice with? I'm brand new to Dota 2 although I played LoL a few years back. I like playing AD Carries or AP champs in LoL, basically anything ranged, since I find that's a good way to learn a game without dying constantly in melee range.

Also dumb question - how do I deny? I keep right clicking my creeps but that doesn't do anything.

Honestly, it's best to play at least once with every hero. You're going to lose a lot, and it's going to be frustrating, but it will make you a better player.

Also, hit your attack key, default = 'a', and then left click the creep.

LGD have picked him recently, but they've also been playing with pretty much the exact same lineups (except Morphling, maybe) they used at TI2. Also, it's a joy to watch iG play. They have adapted to 6.75 really well, picking BH, Sven and Night Stalker in one game, for example.

Lol with the new gold and xp changes, BH is hella bullshit.

If you want a nice dumb ranged carry to try picking up, give Viper a shot. But you will need to basically learn the very basics of every hero in the game, and be capable of playing a dozen or more of them proficiently

Yeah I realize eventually I will have to play all the heroes to figure out all their spells and weaknesses, but I just want someone to get me started while I figure out how to play this game in the first place. I thought the transition from LoL to Dota 2 would be easy and seamless but it's anything but. I'll give Viper a shot.

I'd recommend Viper, Lich, and Tidehunter as your learning heroes. Lich is a pretty easy support, Tidehunter is a support/initiator who basically slots into any lineup imaginable, and Viper is a ranged carry with very direct damage output and not a whole lot of subtlety

After those, I recommend Night Stalker/Bounty Hunter to get used to the gank meta going on.

Veno is also a good support to learn. Teaches you the importance of vision, all his skills are good and valuable to the team, good laner, just an overall strong hero.

40 second increase and only 1x strength modifier on rank 1 is huge.

Limiting his options so he can only use it to iniate or help someone escape in the first 10 minutes can impact the game greatly. It was a bit annoying to see someone escape with his ult, then a minute later see him gank with it.

For those of you emailing me about the Dota 2 Halloween update: 1. It's not Halloween yet. 2. No one said it was for this year's Halloween.

That's the worst two reasons I've ever heard, I expect more out of cyborgmatt.

1. TF2 update is out, as is every other Halloween update. People want the update to END around Halloween, most people won't be on their computer that night.
2. Oh ffs that's just pure trolling. His whole blog revolves around the fact valve only puts things in updates that are upcoming for release.

I personally think maybe Valve shot a little too high for their expectations on their Halloween update and had to push it back? An entire new mode plus a whole new item schema that they've only started putting into the game files as of two weeks ago? I think they procrastinated. Just my opinion. This weekend would have been the perfect opportunity for them to release it, I would've been playing all night every night.

/saltrant

On other terms, I hope Sandy doesn't inhibit my Dodo play.

I think it's done, but they didn't want to release both the TF2 update and Dota 2 update at the same time. My guess anyway. Dota 2 got the most players ever today (been climbing hard past few days because of all the extra keys) so they have enough players there already. Spreading it out a bit is nice for people who play both as well.

Just played a game as Viper, damn that dude is easy to play haha. Played co-op against bots but I did much better than my first game since I'm starting to get a hang of the game's mechanics. I still don't like how the animations in this game are slower than in LoL, for example if you're running away and you want to throw a quick spell behind you while you keep running. Your dude here will turn slowly, shoot, then turn slowly again and keep running, which takes a long time to do. I died a few times trying to do that.

Who did you play as in your first game?

Not every hero has the same turn rates. Some heroes turn faster than others but yeah, just another quirk that was transferred over from Dota 1 to Dota 2.
