Definitely recommend a phantom lancer and naga siren with diffusal blades. Your illusions will sap so much mana from roshan that he will reach a point where he can't use his spells. This'll allow Ursa's fury swipes to stack to the high heavens, and PA to crit like whoa, without any interruptions. Also some damage amplification since the dude has like 80 armor.
It seems to be:
Winning Team: Item + Item
Losing Team: Item
Then some kind of chance at an essence.
Don't know what to tell you, just don't enjoy it.

In what ways?
Common offlaners I recall seeing picked in competitive games atm: Windrunner, Dark Seer, Beastmaster, Bounty Hunter, Enigma. Others used situationally include Furion, QoP, Lone Druid, Clinkz, Clockwerk, Tidehunter, PoTM, Brood, Weaver, Puck, Bat.
Invis and heroes with escapes are one thing, but others have to rely on starting with boots, eating trees/cutting them down to get in range for exp, leading an entire wave to their tower (like with Sylla).. or any combination of the above lol
Sheesh. Five of us played Diretide 3 times, same guy got a mythical courier in each of the last 2 games. Tickled Tegu and Fearless Badger. Me jelly.
Pro Diretide strats: Sylla's bear attacks the bucket, AM blink daggers in and grabs the candy, then blinks out and uses tp boots to friendly bucket. GGs

I'm not going to waste my time with this mode, but I would like to see this Roshan death animation everyone is talking about. Any vids? Anybody want to make one?
Apparently you need to put essence into it. I put in one and there are two open slots. Though someone said you need more essence than that to hatch the egg so I'm not sure...
This mode is better than the base game. They need to remove vanilla Dota 2 and replace it with this all year.

Played 4 matches. Lost 4 matches. I really wish I could play with decent people.
Yeah, played 3 and lost 2... We actually had two people trying to push towers in my last game. They attacked the top tower for a good couple of minutes before realizing they weren't doing anything to it.
Hopefully more people understand how to play darktide by tomorrow.
