Yeah I haven't seen any of the other essences yet. Does anyone know what triggers the Rosh global cooldown thing?

2 of the 3 games, it'd happen sparingly, thus having longer fight times. Other fights bring it down to the sub 2 min range because of the heal/cooldown reset.

edit - bah, won my last two games, but only got items for the final rosh part.
 
I just got a mythical courier from winning the 1st phase after the hotfix. The enduring war dog!

And I didn't even know what I would get that whole round. Awesome! I like the surprise element the game has by not showing what you get.
 
Well, I bought keys for the first time ever, even counting TF2, and I more or less got the items I wanted from the diretide chest (TA hair thingy, gemstaff). No 2nd egg though, unfortunately.
 
So does it not only show you what you'd get in the first phase now, or the second also? I kinda liked seeing what you would get, though it was somewhat abusable since you could wait until the actual game timer started and it would pop up, allowing you to counterpick or whatever depending on how hard you wanted to try and win. Only played earlier today before it patched.

At first I didn't notice, but I think it's actually for the better. I suppose people could completely throw if it's an item they already have, this way you don't know until it's all over. I wouldn't mind seeing the item for the Roshan fight beforehand though.
 
The top Sugar Rush time right now is dumb. I was wondering how everyone on both teams had 2500 gpm. All they did was have one radiant at a radiant bucket and one dire hitting the radiant bucket so candies came out. The radiant would pick up the candy that he just hit out and put it back in. Rinse and repeat for 20 minutes. Infinite supply of exp and gold. That's sounds like a exploit that you can't really fix though.
 
Well, I just searched for Diretide and it put me in a regular game so that was fun. Started the game buying courier and observer wards on Lifestealer and I didn't know it was a regular game for like 2-3 mins until I saw a creep wave.

Yeah, its basically who can cheese the most effectively. There's no way to compete with these times unless you match up as a group of 10 and farm gold off each other in preparation. The coordination is impressive, but the fact that you need to get a group of 10 matched and completely throw the first phase out the window to pull it off makes it inaccessible to most players.
 
I played with some people and managed to kill Roshan in under 2 minutes. Still a ways away from the record though. lol
 
How long does Diretide last for? I only have one magic essence in my egg so far.
 
I actually got a team to let me sit and beat their pail while they turn in the candy it drops to give everyone high Exp/m GPM for the Roshan kill. On south east Asia server, this is a commendable feat I'd say.
 
Entered a regular game on accident, and my team thought it was Diretide initially. The "All-pick" announcer made me suspicious lol.

If you ever fail or decline in Diretide matchmaking game, and you say "reenter", it will not put you in a Diretide queue.
We won, but no one found any items that match. Too much incentive to play Diretide Valve! :P
