First game I play in two days, and I get this shit. A Venomancer who refuses to buy the courier, insists on soloing long lane, and having Lone Druid jungling, leaving me soloing against a trilane, with no support of course. I get pooped on, of course, dying four times within 6 minutes...under my own fucking tower. Fuck this game sometimes. Where is a fucking concede button when you need it? This game was obviously lost within about three minutes, especially since we had a laning clusterfuck at the beginning. Also Lone Druid had to buy the courier, I felt bad for the guy.

I just played with a couple who insisted they were right on everything and when you countered them they would back each other up.
Or if they were wrong they would stop talking.

I have a slight feeling this girl was one of those gamer girls who you pay to play with.
Text abuse out the wazoo if they died. No matter what is was my fault.

Apparently I've been reported for ability abuse - jungling.
Couter-reported for text abuse.

"There are gamer girls you can pay to play with? Damn I'm gonna have to start saving my money."

I can set you up with a qt called Skyla.

he's second-round ban material now in pro matches. Since he got buffed nobody wants to see that guy after 35 minutes.

you can watch any of those matches in the game client. Just search with the game ID and download the replay. I watched the first one I linked. He was fuckin people up with that SBlade, Midas and SnY. But Sing is better than most players so he can get away with unusual builds more than your average player can.

Oh wow, SingSing pubs with Na'Vi.
I watched a few of them and last hitting almost every creep for 15 minutes is crazy.

Maybe winterymint can kick his ass

Undying seems really good but I've barely seen him when doing matchmaking. Played him for the first time in a player match yesterday and did quite well, probably the first tank I've really enjoyed playing. Dropping tombstone in the middle of natures prophet tree + creep + team push seemed to be effective.

WOW...that is overkill.

It might seem like a lot, but I'd rather wait and see before I hope they do any changes. Morphling got slammed so hard after TI2 and PL just started getting popular. AM was barely changed at all (iirc just movement speed decrease and a longer cast time on blink) and now he's barely picked.

If you're having troubles with pl in pubs, play bh. Kotl is food for him and he can stop pl's farming easily with track.

He's extremely strong. Some people are easily turned off by minor nerfs (decay got like a 20 point damage reduction), but he's crazy good. Falls off a bit late but he's strong for a good 30 minutes.

HERE'S A FREE IDEA FOR SOMEONE TO MAKE LOTS OF MONEY.

SOMEONE MAKE A TROJAN HORSE COURIER.

WHEN ITS NORMAL, IT JUST MOVES ON ITS WHEELS.

WHEN UPGRADED, IT SPROUTS WINGS, BUT SORT OF DRAGS, BOBS AND WEAVES IN THE AIR, STRUGGLING TO DELIVER ITEMS.

you're welcome.

Anyone have an extra dota 2 key? I have a friend that is interested in playing. My steam name is Muddimarf. I'm at work currently but will be on later around 3pm est.

I think I may stop using my Unusually courier just to make people stop asking to trade for it or buy it in game.

The low balls are also a bit insulting, I think I have been offered the Pudge bone hook 6 times now.

Can't tell if you're just a new player or if meeru bought another gaf account.

Pretty interesting to see the prices of the Genuine items, looks like you can sell the Steelseries sword (Kantusa) for half the price of the mouse, and people offering 50+ keys for the Battlefury from the headset.

The matchmaking in this game is pretty poor. My friends and I have varying numbers of wins and I understand how hard it is to match with another team that way but it's bad even considering that. we had a game where the highest amount of wins was around 300 on our team and 70 the lowest, while the other team had 300 wins as their lowest and 500 as their highest. They outclassed us so hard it's ridiculous.

Not sure why people keep quoting number of wins like it means anything.

More wins doesn't mean they are better, they may simply have played more. You don't see their losses so you don't know the ratio, maybe they had the same average win/loss ratio as your team.

Also, matchmaking is using a hidden MMR number that is constantly being fine tuned. Also, the longer you search for a game, the further away from your MMR the search goes in order to get you a game faster. If you've been searching for 5 minutes before you get a game, the chance of the other team being a lot better or worse than you increases.

Oh, the Prismatic Drake with the Frostivius effect.

Also, loving the Steam Market, gives me a small supply of cash to buy keys to open the onslaught of seasonal boxes.
Nice. I want a Drake (I think I posted that shit here first), but don't know what effect. I wish there was an effect that looked like the Red Greevil flames. Ethereal flames always looked like shit to me so there don't feel like any natural options that look good (for a dragon). I wonder if any Greevil effects will become normal unusual effects.

Where do you get that 'supply' from?

Oh, just selling off some TF2 stuff, and playing with the market a bit. I still have a few TF2 idle accounts that I run once in a while, and that can get me a few name tags and such. I really wonder what will happen when you can sell Metal on the market. By the normal trade conventions, it should be $.60 per Refined, but I can't see the price breaking a quarter.

Wins don't mean shit.

It means they've played more, but if you're getting matched then you have similar MMR.

Playing more means you have more experience...

Look I'm not even saying its the end-all way of showing skill or w/e. it was the only quick metric I could use. If you saw the game you'd see that our skills were not matched. Dota matchmaking is balls if you play with people in a party of varying skill.

I randomed AM, i was in lane against Axe and BH. Proceed to cry because no farm. Cry more when venge lane partner doesnt chase the meanies away.

AM sucks

Bullshit

Like I said they don't dictate skill, but it does dictate experience. Even if the invoker that was dominating had lost half his games, he had 1000 games under his belt at minimum. That is a shitload of experience that none of us had. More experience, better tactics, better plays

The thing is, not everyone had an amazing game, or makes the right decisions, or has heroes that work together. MM can only do so much, and I'd say it does it well. There are so many other factors besides skill to take into account for winning or losing.

It's pretty irritating when supports don't help their late game carries. We had a witch doctor go mid and leave void in a solo lane AND asked him to buy wards lol
