Well if there's no Earth in Universe 6, there's probably no Gohan

There is an earth.

Just
no humans, per say. While dark Goku and Good Vegeta could happen, Gohan and co have no chance at being there.

Also, three very important things from better translations :

1) Champa didn't know about earth before Beerus mentioned it

2) Champa wants earthlings to fight, not anybody else from the universes, I'm not sure why he is so confident he can win since he has no idea who is on his earth

3) Earth from universe 7 will NOT be destroyed if they lose, it will only be swapped with universe 6 Earth.... Which means it could absolutely happen, leading to them trying to get the super Dragon Balls to restore the two Earths from their respective universes.

There's an Earth in Universe 6 though, it just has been devastated by a "stupid war". That doesn't mean that the planet is no more. We only know that humanity has been destroyed. If it was recent enough, Gohan and the others could exist there, and a post-apocalpytic Earth could result in a Gohan like the one from Trunks' future. If it happened decades ago though, yes, no Gohan.

Funny episode! Like most everybody else in this thread, Goku "flying" away legit made me laugh out loud for like a minute straight. It was so unexpected and his "wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" *pick up tractor* into another "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh" just adds to the hilarity. Also I didn't noticed till now but Mr.Satan looks a whole lot skinnier than he was in DBZ....guess he stopped training after seeing all the Z-Fighters crazy fights back then lol. The "filler" episodes in DBS have been pretty fun to watch imo.

Also DBZ:RoF(and also the 3DS DBZ fighting game) is coming tomorrow on Blu-Ray/DVD and mines already shipped! Didn't get to watch it in theaters so I'm hyped to see it and what changes future DBS episodes will have in it.

Still haven't seen the new one (gonna watch tonight) but on rewatch I kind of love this scene from ep 14:

I love how the aura comes back when Goku powers up.

Is this one of those things where
the word being translated as "human" actually means just a person, and not necessarily one from Earth?

Seems weird to me that Champa and Vados would say their Earth was destroyed in a war with no one left, and then stake five fighters from that world unless the wording actually just means five fighters from Universe 6 in general

Dragonball sometimes uses "ningen" for humanoid aliens, like the Saiyans and even Piccolo. I haven't read the raw though, so I don't know the specific word choice there.

That was a funny episode. Couldn't really stand Satan during the Cell and Buu sagas, but find this Satan far more enertaining. The feline alien dance and Goku flying with the tractor had me legit laughing too.

These leaks are also quite hype, can't wait.

The translation from the resident guru of Kanzenshuu doesn't say 'human' but others do, i would assume that he understood the context and changed it.

You are all fools.

Piccolo would have stayed burried because Pilaf wouldn't have needed him to get the Dragon balls.

Which means Red Ribbon army world Take Over !!!!

General Blue for world leader !!!

It was funny, but the second scream and tractor pick up is just making it a classic.

Can't wait to hear Sean's version of that scene. You know. In 8 years.

Funny thing about that gif is that Arale would've thwarted a RR Army takeover

"Leech"

If Goku got a single cent for every human life he's ever saved he'd be more stacked than Satan. It's not Goku who's leeching, all of Earth is leeching off Goku making it possible for them to live in the first place :P

i think if he expect and ask for payment everytime he saves the Earth, it makes him of a lesser hero.

If Goku had never come to Earth at all, I think the planet would have stayed pretty safe. Although Pilaf might have become king of the world.

If Goku and the saiyans never come to earth at all, the planet would have eventually been destroyed when Babidi came around and resurrected Buu.

Not neccessarily. Buu could still have been controlled by Babidi to a point.

And that Satán fight was kind of scary, to think that alíen could kill him if not for the dog, we already had an episode of someone punching a defenseless Vídel, no wonder she decided to stay at home and be a housewive

Would he have even gotten enough energy to do that, though? I thought Gohan, Goku and Vegeta were the only reasons he even got the energy to revive Buu in the first place.

Timeline could have been split anywhere. Maybe raditz kills piccolo and gets away with goku and gohan. Dragon balls go to shit and the world gets scorched. This way all current characters other than trunks and goten can exist.

"Filler" refers to story in an Anime that was not in the Manga. These are created because Anime production usually outpaces the Manga.

I don't see how this episode was filler unless the entire series is filler. At a certain point the word loses all meaning and it seems like a useless complaint from people who didn't watch Dragon Ball.

He gives zero fucks about being a hero.

If somehow he could monetize his fights to pay for more training he'd do it, like he already did by taking a bribe from Mr Satan in episode 1!

Which Chichi somehow already spent!?!? wtf.

what about his speech during namek though
Being the protector of Earth and all that

I also loved the Chi Chi and Piccolo moment because the idea that Piccolo sometimes comes by to eat and that Chi Chi is capable of contacting him is precious to me.

I just like the idea of piccolo basically being a god-grandparent to pan

heat of the moment, bro

the most heroic thing goku did was letting himself stay dead so gohan, someone who would attract less enemies, be the protector of earth

which kind of ended badly when gohan stopped training the moment cell was defeated

and of course staying dead was just a way to keep training on the cheap without chichi badgering him for money

I just caught the latest episode.

I mean I love the fights and all, but in-between stuff like this is what makes this series so special to me.

It seems chichi mind, since she didn't ask Goku to go get money from Videl/Satan. She wants Goku to show everyone (especially pan in the future) that they can be independent and Goku raise a family with a normal job too. chichi doesn't want Pan to wonder if grandpa Goku is fighting to protect the Earth for the money.

OG Funi stuff, just like how they wrote Vegeta blaming Freeza for why he's evil.

^

Goku doesn't fight to be a hero. He fights for the sake of fighting, and treats it like one big group party where everyone's just as carefree as he is.

It's why he sens his own son out to fight Cell
It's why he holds back against Majin Buu - to let Goten and Trunks fight him.
It's why he lets Vegeta and Piccolo and (To a lesser extent) Frieza live - because he sees them as potential rivals, even though they threaten his loved ones.
It's why he holds back against Kid Buu - to give Vegeta a turn (which ends up forcing them to use the spirit bomb and the dragon balls to defeat Kid Buu).

When Vegeta fucks up, like with Cell and Android 18, it's because of overconfidence in his own abilities. When goku fucks up it's generally due to apathy/a failure to grasp the urgency of the situation.

Didn't he let Vegeta go in for him cause SSJ3 was draining too much power?

Pointing that out was the highlight of RF.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Earth would have stayed safe. The Red Ribbon Army might have temporarily taken over but I'm pretty sure Roshi and co. could have defeated them.

If Goku and the saiyans never come to earth at all, the planet would have eventually been destroyed when Babidi came around and resurrected Buu.

Babidi would have retrieved Buu's cocoon and gone to another planet. He couldn't resurrect him without Gohan and co.'s power.

Filler refers to story in an anime that wasn't in the original work. The original work for Super is Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F'.

Assuming they could have had enough energy to do so.

It'd be Frieza and Dabura as the two most powerful beings around. They wouldn't come to Earth.

Krillen would never have pushed himself much without Goku.
Yamcha would likely be a loser desert bandit.
Tien would be strong but ultimately squandered under Hermit Crane.
