Piccolo's getup is still the best, and the most confounding.

Real reason Cell games Gohan is so beloved.

Speaking of outfits... best outfit?

I always thought Goku, Vegeta during the first half of the Namek saga (with the blue armor), and Piccolo had the best looks. Each were distinct and defined, and fit each character remarkably well.

Also liked Brolly's threads as well.

King Vegeta has one of the best feats in the anime

The only better ones are probably Super Buu destroying reality and omega shenron's chain reaction thing. Cell's solar system thing too but fuck him he never actually did it.

I do wish DBZ feats were more consistent.

Goku can lift cars as a child yet when he's literally tens of thousands of times more powerful he struggles with 40 tons? Even taking planet gravity into account, it's just so off.

Don't even remember that happening. Pretty nice feat for the anime though.

Poor Cell. Solar System Dragon Ball could have been a thing, but he never did it :_:

The purpose of that scene was Goku training with the weights on, not just lifting them. Think of them like the weighted clothing, except you actually see the weights. He was also already training a lot with 8 tons on him (sweating in the manga when the scene starts) so going straight to 40 tons would be big.

Even if he's training with them it still doesn't even come close to making sense imo. Yeah, it'd take more strength to actually train with weights on your limbs while flying, but when the guy was pushing giant boulders dug into the ground as a child or lifting and throwing a Humongous Piccolo [actually calculated to be 116 tons] it more then makes up that difference... especially when you take into account how powerful he's gotten since Dragon Ball to Buu Saga.

It's not as inconsistent as speed though.

Can I get a young King Vegeta and young Bardock manga? Planet busting buddies!
Pretty sure those two never met in person, nor would they have any meaningful exchange

Bardock was a nobody. I do want to see more Saiyan stuff though. The filler flashbacks with Vegeta and Nappa (with hair!) training were really cool. The first Broly movie was cool for this reason. Even the Beerus/King Vegeta flashback was cool because that was the first time we'd seen any Saiyan history in a LONG time.

Bardock and Vegeta weren't homies tho IIRC

but they might be in a different universe.

in universe 4 perhaps king vegeta became good friends with bardock and bardock when being attacked by frieza was only sent back 2 years and thus went SS and just kicked frieza's ass and took rule over the saiyans. He still let his son go take over earth and the events continue there, but ultimately he decides to check in on goku because his wife is worried about him and meets him instead of raditz. The sayians being free were still a proud warrior race, but bardock influence by his wife made the sayians less destroyers who sold stuff to other people and instead more conquerors. looking for a challenge from the planets they visit. So he issues a challenge to the earth and to give the earth a chance he ends up training his son and ultimately gets him to reach the level of SS. They fight it out in a tournement and goku wins so earth stays free, but he decides to leave his family behind to join his father in space, and from there goku worked with his father to challenge people across the universe. He eventually meets vegeta on a mission and the two instantly hit it off and become great friends/rivals ultimately repeatedly battling each other. ....

I should stop this pointless dribble :P

I'm sure they met at least once. Raditz was Vegeta's partner after all.

I wonder what Super Saiyan 5 would have looked like..?

Well, GT's character designer went on to work in the first 4 digimon seasons after Toriyama refused to do the designs for it (although I think many digimon designs were pre-existing from the other products, so I'm not sure how much influence he had there).

Was King Vegeta not huge height wise? I think he would tower over Goku let alone Vegeta, who knows what dwarf he must have been fucking to get kids like Vegeta and Tarble.

Either way, King Vegeta was the most menacing looking Saiyan out there, but Broly when he goes crazy is up there as well.

Finally got around to seeing the last episode. The first half was much better than expected. But then the second half hit and I was like "oh, this is what everyone was bitching about."

But even in the first half, there's a notable problem with consistency. It feels like they use 3 or 4 different models for faces and bodies in the span of 15 minutes so it looks like you're watching a few different shows jammed together.

I finally got round to watching episode 25 (come on dragonteam, get your shit together) and it wasn't too bad. Art as always was a bit iffy, especially near the end but I did enjoy seeing some genuinely new interactions between Beerus and Champa. I assume Champa is collecting some sort of dragon balls.

Might just start watching the speed dubs instead. Don't think I could cope with waiting a week or more after an episode is aired to watch it.

I just saw this

Basically saying there's no saving of the art quality in the future episodes

Thank you soo much. not like I don't believe what you guys are saying but I just want to know what he said literally so I'm not mis-quoting anything when I spread it around.

Basically he says the current Dragon Ball can't be helped. He's checked the layout as animation director for a 10 day period. No matter how they try, they can't keep up the quality this way.
