I don't think Piccolo is getting a power up. I believe he has just been chosen due to being the next strongest fighter after Buu.

How am I missing the point? That's what happened. he decided to stop training and got weaker. That is what I am saying. he's WEAK. Thank you! You just said the same thing I said.
You're saying that he's done because of the events of this arc when in actuality the events of this arc are the reason that he's getting back into training. That's the point you're missing. Gohan has the most potential of all of the heroes and now he has a reason to not slack off on training.

I think youve quoted the wrong person?

No, she didn't.
Same for Trunks, give him a quest where he gets his sword since they retconned Tapion.
It's not like Trunks had a sword at the end of Z, him having a sword for a bit in GT really doesn't matter when it comes to Super.

What I'd personally like is if Gohan and Piccolo end up on Supreme Kai's planet and Elder Kai helps them achieve new forms. It would be so interesting to have Elder Kai train two disciples whilst Whis trains his own two especially considering Beerus/Whis are the antithesis of the Kais.

So?

He wasn't able to take home the W because he was and still is a weakling. So he had to call daddy to come help him. If he didn't, the entire planet's security would have been at stake.

So much for being a father, gohan.

There has been some absolutely awful Gohan trolling on this thread but this takes the cake.

Hopefully they introduce something that is the opposite of SSG, like Super Saiyan Devil or Super Saiyan Demon. It should be exclusive to Gohan or someone from the other universe.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that anyone who partook in the SSG ritual has the potentional to tap into the God Ki since they have technically already felt it. Vegeta and Goku trained with Beerus, so it made getting there much easier, and they didn't really explain it too much anyways. As for Gohan it can be hand waved as mystic shit.

Well it's not like Trunks would bring a sword to a tournament that forbids weapons....

Nothing states he doesn't have a sword at the end of Z.

In fact the tapion movie was the only attempt they ever made at writing a story that can fit in the canon. It had no plot holes unlike all the other movies.

Unless future Trunks comes back ( unlikely ) Trunks should get one IMO. He was mimicking a sword slash in this episode. I don't see why he couldn't get a sword.

Weren't you guys saying the same thing back when we suggested the show was foreshadowing his return?

We don't know the extent of his return. For all we know this was a narrative reason to make him a regular part of the cast, like Krillin's recent development on the show (remember that?) And that's fine, but he isn't going to become the strongest or "the guy."

Doesn't Bojack also fit in the canon?

If you're referring to the final cell battle, wasn't Goku coaching him the entire time.

He needed Vegeta's blast to take Cell off-guard.

But none of that would've transpired if Gohan didn't lose his left arm to protect Vegeta. He would've destroyed Super Perfect Cell if he had full function of his arms.

Bojack's movie has one minor inconsistency (Satan sees the crew after the Cell games, and yet only mentions Cell when talking about them in the Buu Saga), however it avoids bigger plotholes (like explaining that Trunks went there to tell them about beating the androids in the future) and actually addresses a plot point that the manga itself just ignored afterwards (Vegeta saying that he won't fight anymore at the end of the Cell Saga).

Bojack is one of the only movies that can fit so well. But my biggest problem is the final fight, it was baaaaaad.

Excited for the next ep. The real DB Super starts here and all that.

What the hell were Goku and Vegeta wearing in the preview? I might change my answer for "best outfit."

"Gee Beerus, whaddaya wanna do tonight?"

"The same thing we do every night Whis, try to destroy the world!"

I think this is what most fans want and have reasonable expectations for, or at least they should anyway. Super is doing a decent job at providing character development to a larger part of the cast so as long as it stays that way we're good. Don't need another GT situation.

Gohan remains on Earth.

Threat arrives on planet.

Gohan defeats threat.

Mr. Satan announces it was his son-in-law who was also the boy who stood up to Cell and that he may not have been able to win if he hadn't. Further securing his legacy and ensuring that his grand daughter will grow up filthy rich even without him.

That would be great.

It was a little hard to tell with the last three pages of "OH MAN GOHAN IS GONNA BECOME SS4SSG!"

The narrative of dragon ball or even the shounen/martial arts genre in general can't support three equally powerful leads. It barely juggled two in ROF. A pecking order needs to be established.

I like this, but Satan would probably just say that he secretly trained Gohan instead of saying he was important in defeating Cell.

Good conclusion. Of course they will not destroy Earth

favorite part of the series is coming up... none fighting episodes

Haha well I don't blame people for being excited. It was an exciting moment that fans have been waiting for since the late Buu saga.

I don't how he'd do it, maybe through just being very intelligent, but I think Gohan might figure out SSJB on his own. Even back in like what, Episode 10, he knew that the Red Ritual God form was not the true potential of the Super Saiyan God:

I can totally see Gohan figuring out to contain his ki within his body, on his own. He was a part of the ritual to boot, which is the catalyst. If Gohan is actually gonna to step-up and train, I can actually see him achieving the form. SSJB2, that'd be a way to have Gohan come back in style lol. I really thought Gohan would go home and be family man, so this is pretty exciting.

Dragon Ball has always been a series where people stumbled into incredible abilities. Gohan figuring out god ki with no real reason isn't any worse than Goten becoming a super saiyan casually at 5. It's a series where the remarkable becomes mundane within an arc so that something else can be the new wow factor, it's happened in nearly every arc of the series. It likely won't change with Super.

Gohan has bottomless potential the dude can go anywhere he wants. And I bet he will. And I doubt Gohan doesn't know anything about God Ki since he is a scholar about Ki. Also Gohan should go completely back to his teen hair style it was the best.

The difference here IMO is gaining god ki seemed to be established to be something Goku and Vegeta wouldn't have been able to reach on their own accord. Goku needed the ritual and Vegeta needed Whis's guidance and knowledge on it. But like I said, Gohan could figure out whatever trick there is to it since he's smart (smart and hard training), but that wouldn't be an unexplained power up.

I had a dream last night that DBS skipped forward and Trunks and Goten were like 22 and Xicor from DBAF was canon. So I dunno if it was a good dream or not because Xicor sucks

Huh, does this count as Mr. Satan dying or not? I mean, he did, but then Whis hit Crtl+Z and he didn't.

Did Mr. Satan lose his title of "Only human who never died" in this episode or not?

Gohan is training again. I could cry at how happy that makes me.

Also, am I the only one that is "done" with the screencaps of shitty art? Either move on or accept it, people.

the screen caps aren't funny anymore, fair enough when it's a really horrible moment but not when it's something that's there for like a second. Like is that freiza crawling one really worth pointing out at all?

I liked this episode

well done... I may soon lose by Gohan bet though (if he becomes strong and significant on the real power level)... well at least he might be somewhat competent though and there are other things that need to occur for the bet like a threat to earth while everyone but Gohan is away.
