those pokemon gifs look stupidly good. movie quality. it's sad that super would never come close to that.

good animators aren't very limited, budgets are very limited. they go with the d animation team more often than not because it's less expensive.
again, look at early one piece vs. current one piece if you want an easy example. they were putting out nice looking episodes fairly consistently. now a nice looking episode is a rarity.
yes it had some of the all time great writing but the first season looked consistently great. I recently rewatched the show and never saw any terrible, off model shots like I do when I watch super or one piece.
batman tas is the gold standard of creators taking their material seriously (writing, art design, animation) and not treating the audience like a dumb ass child that exists to buy toys. that's all I meant.
Dragon Ball Super isn't cheap to produce at all.
Between all the synergy between the toys and marketing, concurrently to the weekly episodes, all handled by Toei, they are putting a lot of effort into it.

There's only so much they can do with a weekly episode production. Good animators are very limited, they can't be fixing every frame of every episode, or handle whole sequences all the time.
