Look, what I'm saying is I enjoy a good fight video as much as the next guy, but these people who are like oooh I wish it was a gun, or a sword, or a knife, are actually wanting to see a murder and as such are probably insecure and could better expend their nervous energy with learning martial arts, or exercise of any variety. Perhaps I was just too antagonistic in tone.

So people who want to see idiots violently beaten and murdered are insecure?

Explain why, and show your work.

People support killing people who vandalize cars, but they are (probably) against the death penalty for people convicted of murder

i'm against a death penalty done by a GOVERNMENT. but yeah, if you murder someone, you deserve to get killed yourself. if a relative of a murder victim decides to go vigilante and kill the murderer, i feel a symbolic punishment of like a week in jail or a fine would be OK.

Is that dude holding the bat with one hand? No wonder he dropped it. I should probably buy a baseball bat in case some asshole tries to nick my guitars or something. Not because I need one to inflict damage, quite the opposite in fact, if someone sees me holding a bat they'll either think:

1) oh this guy's crazy. BAIL.
2) oh this guy's well prepared, probably has trap doors and a CCTV control room. BAIL.

Not too bothered about my car because it's old and whatever, and it's probably better for my health that I don't rage out and pretend I'm powering up or something :lol

after they smashed his window with the bat, it fell in while he drove off. now he's got one sweet ass story

sweet justice
He definitely lost it. As he drives off the guy in the black shirt runs with the bat and attempts to throw it at the car. You can hear the bat land after he runs behind the building.

Man, the passive aggressive angst on display in this thread is hilarious. Some of these posts read like meek 40's style accountants going "y.. yeah! g.. get him!" while cringing behind their desks. This rabid desire to live vicariously through "vigilantes" in youtube videos is probably indicative of a group of men who own really, really big trucks and a grab bag of insecurities.
I guess you could call it passive aggressive angst, but you really don't know how anyone here would react to this situation. It's a fucking forum. People are going to talk and comment on the video. Would appropriate non passive aggressive responses have been to reply with videos of themselves dealing out vigilante justice? I mean, it's fun to try and call people out, but I'd argue that trying to call people out on an internet forum is just as passive aggressive if not more so.

I dunno; I was expecting him to take them all out Batman-style or something. He got a few good shots in but ended up getting chased off. Or am I missing something?

for reals. thread does not deliver.

Jesus, he just barely got away. If he was a little slower they probably would've killed him.
I dunno, I think he had a good combination. If he was a little lighter and faster, he might've been pulled out of the car before he put in drive and got away. If he was slower and fatter they might have caught him before he got to the car. Oddly, he seemed perfectly distributed in terms of speed and weight. He was fast enough to get to and into the car, and was able to weigh enough for them not to be able to pull him out.

I have a question: Why don't you just run them over with your GODDAMN TON AND A HALF CAR?
:lol Did this to a crew of drunk pricks outside a strip club in the Bx about 5 years ago. Sent like 3 dudes sprawling over the hood of my car. It was pretty nuts--dead of winter too with slushy/snowy roads so I'm doing the crazy spinouts trying to really get those chumps as they ran for their lives. Meanwhile I got 2 other friends in the car with me totally drunk and passed out with no clue as to the madness unfolding. Ended up with a dent on the driver side door from a rock they threw--told my wife it was like that when I got back to the car to drive home.

The whole ordeal earned me the nickname "D-Psycho". :lol

So many Aliens quotes to fit with this clip...

We'd better get back, 'cause it'll be dark soon, and they mostly come at night... mostly

I like to keep this handy... for close encounters

Look, this is an emotional moment for all of us, okay? I know that. But, let's not make snap judgments, please. This is clearly-clearly an important species we're dealing with and I don't think that you or I, or anybody, has the right to arbitrarily exterminate them.
:lol :lol

That was some crazy shit. I winced at the sound of the aluminum hitting flesh/bone...

All those fighting movies are actually accurate. A gang really does attack a foe only one member at a time. My world view is shattered.
You win sir :lol

I don't generally support beating the shit out of people but...he was wielding the bat of justice.

So, some guys watch an internet video where some thugs get dinged with an aluminum bat, then shown up in a humorous way when they are dragged off by the retreating victim. People are justifiably posting lolz and general pleasure in the fact that the aggressors got their comeuppance, and say 5 of them or so post wishing that they wish they were seeing a murder. Say, 3 of them are just angry and off the cuff and maybe the other 2 are dead serious. Maybe they've been victimized in the past, and seeing this shit really just sets them to boiling over. One of the possible explanations for this is that they have had shit happen to them in the past, and since they didn't retaliate they have this old festering wound which has robbed them of their security in regards to bullying thug-types, and so they wax wistful about a punishment unfit for the crime. It's just a theory.

Now, for my failings in my original post. Instead of attempting to say all that in the first place, I just set out mindlessly antagonizing people for no real reason. Somewhere, there's a disconnect between my first impulse and what I end up saying, then suddenly get pelted with backpacks like the kid in the gif sometimes by posters I actually like. I give myself a "c" on my homework for answering your question, but a "d" on diverging badly from the point.

I thought that was going in a very satisfying direction but then the thugs seemed to be all fine at the end, and the bat guy got a broken window out of it. :/

So basically, you're dreaming up a scenario which could apply, possibly, maybe, and then stating that it does apply.

That's generally the way discussion works? Somebody says something, somebody else responds, etc? Yeah sure I didn't specifically say "this is what I think" but isn't everything you say assumed to be what you think? You're pouncing on nothing here, guy.

Anything without charts and graphs immediately following can be assumed to have an IMO before it, and that's just kinda the way the internet works.

and what's so wrong about that? just because you can somewhat analyze someone's thought patterns psychologically doesn't mean it's a negative thing :P

i've thought about this a lot, and i've come to the conclusion that it's perfectly ok to HATE these type of bullies. a lot more hate should be directed towards them, to show that their irrational aggressive behavior is not acceptable. people don't realize the harm they cause in society, and they aren't punished properly, so they reign free. i've worked for the police and seen this shit so much, violent sociopaths literally saying stuff like "i'm so glad we can beat the shit out of people and won't get proper jailtime for it!". they are MOCKING us decent people.

so i think it's normal to want harm to them and to want to stop them, since they themselves are a ridiculously harmful force (at least where i live random violence is NOT rare at all). of course sometimes it's not so clear, often there are fights for somewhat rational reasons etc. i'm talking about clear cut cases, for example when someone came out of the blue and threatened me and my gf with stabbing. i think that person is 100% worthless, and should be kept out of society. why should he have any worth as a human when he crosses a line like that? no one who has any humanity in them wants to stab complete strangers.

there are so many people in this world, so many good people too, that do we really have to value everyone? i don't fucking think so. scum are scum.

Damn, this is badass. Those thugs deserved more than a beating by a single guy.

I need to put a bat in my car from now on.
In Spanish, we call 'em the "Tati Quieto Stick". I used to rock a blackjack too back in the day before I moved to the suburbs.

Wait, I just noticed that one of the guys who follows batman and tries to drag him out of the car is just a passer-by. You can see him passing the cars on the side, then when the bat hits he jolts around and just stands there, trying to figure out what to do until batman bolts and then he starts chasing him.

Hero totally helped out the wrong crew. :lol

Oh no, I love the violence. I don't give a shit about those drunk dudes, and wouldn't white knight for them for any cause. Instant karma is awesome. I'm just lol'ing at the joygasms. Just seems like people who got picked on too much in school or something are finally getting their vicarious jollies. And "ye", that's at you duder.

If gaffers (gaf-ers?) are really putting bats in their cars and hoping to get attacked by a group of drunken thugs, I predict a sudden spike in injured posters when they realize they aren't quite the same caliber of fighter that dude on the video was.
