E3 2010 Schedule and News Summary -- JUNE 15-17

Just tune in at 9:55 and hang around half an hour if it's still at 10:30, last year they played some funky beats before the showing.

So, is Nintendo's likely to go for the reported 2 hours in length, or do they just say 2 hours to cover for overtime, and its more likely to go for one like previous years?

Depends on if they delay the conference by 30 minutes like previous years.

Has the Namco Bandai E3 line up been posted?

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=249874 (fyi, the red ones are obviously not real/rumors/etc.)

Ace Combat: Joint Assault (PSP)
Clash of the Titans (PS3, 360)
Enslaved (PS3, 360)
Dragon Ball: Origins 2 (DS)
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (PS3, 360)
Pac-Man 2010 (TBC)
Splatterhouse (PS3, 360)

I'm not sure if this is real though. :lol

Well they're definitely going to need 2 hours to talk about Zelda Wii, 3DS, Wii HiFi and the on-stage demonstration of Eternal Darkness 2 with the VitSensor.

There's no way that the Wii Hi-Fi is real.
I mean, first off, it's be stupid to announce it now and kill the Wii's momentum going into the holiday season.
And second of all, it'll be called the Super Wii. Not Wii Hi-Fi.

You're just a Nintendo hater who can't stand the thought of Nintendo getting back on top of the console war.

Screw you! Nokia is the king of handhelds and the Phantom will always be number one!

Announcing a new console now would be moronic, no? Lets say they make it as strong as the 360.

We are well into this gen, and starting to approach the next gen. So Nintendo is going to come out with ANOTHER console to match the next gen 360 and ps3? So the hi fi would have a lifespan of 2-3 years?

I'm assuming Nintendo is coming out with a new system so that they can receive ports of ps3 and 360 games like modern warfare.

I hope you didn't think I was serious.

I agree. But that's a topic for a different time and a different place.

Like next week, after they've announced it. ;-)

Doesn't need a new system for that. *cough*

.

A generation behind in Modern Warfare again? :(

Wouldnt announcing a new system, just give the third party people another excuse to move their development away from the Wii

Oh well, it would be funny if they threw the Wii HiFi out there at the end of their conference time :P

I dont think Nintendo will be announcing any WiiHD/HiFi anything. They wont want to overshadow the top Wii titles they'll have there (Metroid: Other M and Zelda Wii, for example), and wont want to direct focus away from the 3DS.

2011? Sure. Might happen and might even launch the same year. But not this year.

It's all so quiet.

Where's ma leaks? Hmmm?

Busy getting formally announced by Sony.

10:30 is the showing time for this year for MS not 10. Now GT will have a 30 minute pre-show and post show. They moved up the showing a bit last year for the Beatles iirc, but they should be on time this year it would seem.

When starts the Natal event tomorrow ? What website(s) will liveblog it ?

Not sure if anyone can live blog it as I thought they were not allowing any of that kind of stuff in.

Not sure what time it starts but I did see this earlier;

Got this scoop yesterday:

The Project Natal event happening tomorrow in LA will be around an hour and 45 mins compare to the MTV/Nick-At-Nite version which is recorded/edited. This one will last 30 mins long commercial-free.

I hope Microsoft can release the full video in HD on XBL Marketplace for free during E3 for the fans. The Gamertag Radio crew will keep you posted live from E3 2010 stay tuned!

http://www.gamertagradio.com/forums/showthread.php?p=80652

Ok looks like it starts at 7:00pm PST;

Wristbands is the ticket for Project Natal event taking place on Sunday June 13th at 7pm.

That'd be a plain old direct sequel :P

Anyway, I thought 1up had sort of friendly relations with Mizuguchi and his studio. And that game is being billed as a spiritual successor, so it's what came to mind immediately for me.

Seems like Microsoft's conference was bumped up to 10AM.

Already updated my calendar with all the new changes. Think everything is right now.

http://ut3mods.x10hosting.com/E32010/
It's quite a tricky situation indeed. GameTrailers, GameSpot, and 1UP all show 10am as the start time for the Microsoft conference. Yet, on the flip-side, G4, IGN, SpikeTV's listing and perhaps most notably, Microsoft's official UK web site, all show the start time as 10:30am. It's possible that, as mentioned earlier, the 10am trio are simply listing the time that their site's pre-show begins. We already know for sure that GT will have a Microsoft pre-show & post-show due to the MTVN/MS deal, but the other motives of the other two sites are a mystery.

What are the chances of a demo of Dead Rising 2 on XBL marketplace?

Kind of doubt it, but ya never know. The DLC prequel thingy is due out next month iirc though. I would sure love a Crackdown 2 demo, but kind of not seeing that happening either. There was some promo for that right? Not sure when those guys were supposed to get it.

A lot of Square's "demos" are being done in interview sessions. Well, FF14 is at least.

The secret game is Devil's Third. "old friend" gave it away.

Itagaki fits 'old friend' but the rest? I didn't think Devil's Third was being billed as a spiritual successor to anything, and it's no longer a secret game :P (This list was only posted an hour ago...)

I was thinking perhaps BGe2 for one of those slots trying to line the Ubisoft slots up with 1ups a bit, but I know I'm getting ahead of myself with wishful thinking.

Rez 2 is not really a highly anticipated game, I thought Rez was a super niche game.
DT can be considered a spiritual sequel to Ninja Gaiden obviously. The list was probably written before the announcement, considering the weekend and they are probably busy with E3 stuff.
About the "Old friend" part, Itagaki and 1up actually have a long history. 1up was the only site that had several interviews with him during the last couple of years, they visited him couple of times, The "Tokyo Vikings" name came out of a 1up interview. They have a very good relation with him since calling him old friend.
Who gives a shit about Rez outside of GAF really?

I'm really happy I have Tuesday off (to watch the Portugal game) because I'll also watch the Nintendo and Sony conferences.

Within gaming circles a Rez successor or sequel is something that I think comes up quite frequently on wishlists...and Mizuguchi and 1up also have a good relationship AFAIK. He used to even keep a user blog on 1up.

Of course, it could also be a myriad of other things. We'll find out soon enough I guess :)

edit - and as I've just been informed in the 'Child of Eden' thread, James Mielke left 1up to go to Q Entertainment...so as 'old friends' go, that's a pretty strong connection ;)

win/win either way , Rez 2 is pretty much confirmed, this doesn't change anything :) .
Considering Ubi is publishing, it's most likely multiplat.
