EA E3 2014 Press Conference Thread

Nothing interesting, FIFA getting worse and worse, always talking physical and about the atmosphere of Premier League matches (lol).
Battlefield segment was too irreal to be nice.
Lots of prototypes and dev interviews for nothing ... No real ME2.
D+

I hope the silence surrounding Sony's presser doesn't mean they've got little to show. if that's the case, this could be looking like the most underwhelming E3 in a long time. Not exactly the best scenario given it's the first E3 that all current-gen consoles are available.
Starting to think maybe this gen started too early, nobody has software ready.
Yeah. If Naughty Dog's other game or Quantic Dream would be there E3 would be automatically saved. But since both are confirmed to be not there it has a high chance of being underwhelming too if they only show Project Beast, Uncharted, Order and DriveClub.

Haha Geoff Keighley's look post conference

what-the-hell-was-that.jpg

Holy shit, anyone have a picture of his reaction?

Lol guy in Twitch stream got stuck clipping through the stairs and freaking out.

Twitch guy: " Oops look like that guy is stuck there"

EA: "No but that's ok he's allowing it to make his teammates spawn right on top of him."

Man, seriously fuck EA.

Seriously, someone pump some money in EA, they need to buy out some companies quickly if this is it ..... liked battlefront though :)

Apart from the (expected) overabundance of sports titles and display of game concepts, I wasn't that displeased by this press conference actually. Maybe I expected less than most?

Mirror's Edge 2 looked nice and I'm definitely more excited for SW Battlefront now (despite not being showed much yet). The rest seemed like more of the same predictable stuff but that didn't offend me. Battlefield: Hardline could actually be cool due to new the dynamics in multiplayer that the cops and robbers setting might bring.

One last thing of note that kept going though my head though, is that the brief footage of Burnout Paradise might actually have been the most exciting thing they showed. That is quite sad of course (and a testament to that game as well).

Oh and bonus points for that screamer in the audience indeed :-)

Well DemonNite did tease the whole 20th Anniversary thing, hopefully that's something too along with his long term teasing of Project Beast.

Man, I love how people are already just assuming Sony won't deliver. I'm not saying they will but man, it's funny

I hope they do as this E3 has been pretty underwhelming so far imo. Maybe I'm being unreasonable in expecting megatons but E3 doesn't seem to have those "wow" moments in terms of games being announced anymore to me.

I mean... I want to know who in the sloppiest of fucks gave the greenlight for that shitshow. I want to know who the hell thought it would be a good idea to show the investors and board of governors a bunch of "conceptual trailers" of games that aren't even close to being ready for any sort of public display?

Hey, EA, if you're reading this... this is how you end up like THQ. You literally had nothing. NOTHING. Well, unless you're into sports, Sims and Battlefield, which fucking no one is excited about because they are yearly/bi-annual franchises!

So, from me to you, EA: fuck off for wasting all of my times...

Very weak conference. All I got out of it was that most of there big titles are much further off than we thought. 2015 might be a very quiet year for these guys.

Awful conference and a near total waste of 60 minutes of my life and the lives of everyone watching. It was quite clear with all their prototype 'trailers' and 'imagine what we could do' talks that EA actually had almost nothing; devoting a lot of time to sports games is nothing new for EA but this year, sports games were clearly dominant.

This is not just a one-off either. This is a symptom of their new business strategy of only making one or two huge, major titles a year apart from sports games, of which each will get a yearly iteration. Of course, EA doesn't really care about E3 reactions so long as their games are selling but they may be very close to economic trouble as their reliance on single studios to produce big selling games while in the face of diminishing returns becomes more noticeable. This safe approach may be healthy for the short term but may be devastating for the company in the long term.

I honestly cannot think of anything positive to say about the rest of the conference. It was just a disaster and a rather dull one at that.

Not enough Star Wars or Mass Effect.

BF Hardline is downloading now on my PS4 so that's nice. Saves it from being a totally dull press conference

Pretty happy that the conference was so bad that I didn't have to second guess for even a second to quit watching it and go for the hard line beta

Also not looking forward to Aisha Tyler hosting again. I don't mind her elsewhere, but she is SO annoying at E3. I literally mute the conference until game footage shows up.

#Girlwood

IMO, Ubi has had the best conference two years running and they appear to be the only publisher who was actually ready for new consoles so I'm looking forward to it.

OMG spike pls add some Antialiasing. #Supersampling #4k #NoEdgies

EA really disappointing, nothing surprising, games shown were not exciting apart from DA Inquisition.

I'm just glad Criterion is working on something that isn't Need for Speed finally, even if it isn't Burnout.

Seems like it could potentially be really fun, like a next-gen Pilot Wings or something.

Ugh. wrong thread.

EA was awful. Nothing to show.. nothing at all.

Hardline did look cool though. Sucks the leak took some thunder from the showing.

5/10
Okay, once again too much focus on sports titles, not enough gameplay from Battlefront and ME4 and not a single WOW/Surprise moment. Pretty sure Hardline was going to be the surprise of the show if it wasn't leaked.

About BF. Hardline. A copy paste from another thread

Am I the only one a bit disturbed at this depiction of cops and robbers? I guess because it's closer to home but the over the top war BF gameplay for a bank heist is unsettling to me.

I was hoping for something smaller scale and SWAT like

They weren't joking in their conference call that they were downscaling on the number of big games, half of them was not at a stage you would normally show it. And no more partner games (Crytek/Respawn/etc) to fill the gaps and you have a terrible show.

I cannot remember an EA presser that was so lacklustre as this one.

Take the DRM and price announcement ou of Sony's conference last year. Can you honestly say Ubisoft didn't have the more interesting games to show? Asfor th year before, Ubisoft spanked evryone else so hard it wasn't even funny.

I find Ubisoft to have the least exciting lineup of any major publisher. Child of Light was the only game they have made in the last few years that I have had any interest in owning.
