Except this isn't the exact thing we would be seeing. The engine is not as refined as it's over a year old and God knows when that was captured and from what build. So while we knew the game existed and now know part of the initial concept (it seems) it doesn't diminish the anticipation to see the game in it's current form of which we've not seen. There has not been an official coming out for this game. On top of that no one is talking about how and why this was leaked over a year after it's behind closed doors showing. I would've crapped myself if i had info but had to keep quiet. The piece was epic.djtiesto said:Looks pretty sick, but I wish the trailer wasn't leaked... imagine the impact it would've made during Sony's E3 presentation. Well, I'm hoping we see some actual gameplay during the presentation, and this is just a small appetizer.

But then it would be going against the Game of the Year, God of War III.Kittonwy said:I wonder how far along the game is now, they can't really keep it in the cooker for too long. I'd say march 2010 by the latest.
Absolutely. It's interesting how many people in this thread are seeing their (often quite different) animal's movements and mannerisms in the Chimera. I really think those animators (and programmers, actually -- one thing that sets this team's work apart is how well animations are integrated with gameplay and their environment) must have spent hundreds of hours looking at animal footage while creating this.AKS said:Those guys spent a lot of time observing the nuances of animal behavior. The detail and accuracy of the animation reminds me of Studio Ghibli, especially Takahata and Miyazaki, which is about the highest compliment I can give regarding this topic. In Takahata's films, the functional frame rate was generally low compared to giant budget Pixar projects, but the accuracy of representing behavior was astounding.

Kratos will kill that hideous TRICO creature in the first seconds of God of War III, and I will enjoy controlling it.Kittonwy said:You mean God of War III would be going up against the Game of the Year TRICO.![]()

Yeah, I can picture the QTE even better now.BlazingDarkness said:hideouscreature.gif
Enough people have commented on the awesomeness of the animation, but the way the light interacts with the ears (subsurface scattering?) and how the short fur on the rim lights up is also very nice.BlazingDarkness said:[most beautiful creature ever seen in gaming]
Show us your intrepid work!pakkit said:As excited as I am for TRICO, I really hope that creature dies on the concept art floor.
GoW3 may take game of the year, but Trico's impact will likely be felt much longer than that. Game of the next 5 years?Greg said:Kratos will kill that hideous TRICO creature in the first seconds of God of War III, and I will enjoy controlling it.

Really? What about it (I'm not trying to start an argument here. I'm just curious how that isn't his style).Vinci said:Yeah, that's really not his style.

He seems to be all about the juxtaposition hope and despair in his games.
They really should release 1080p60fps versions of ICO and SotC for PSN. ICO is my favorite game ever, but it's so low res, and SotC just runs like ass.AFreak said:I am in love with Team Ico. However, I still need to play Ico.
This is the only reason I haven't finished ICO. The PS3 doesn't upscale it for shit.stuburns said:They really should release 1080p60fps versions of ICO and SotC for PSN. ICO is my favorite game ever, but it's so low res, and SotC just runs like ass.

Team ICO don't need to do it. SCEJ aren't doing shit this generation, that'd be a nice little project for them.Kittonwy said:I don't think the team is all the interested in doing remakes or should spend their time doing remakes when they can make even better games.

Vinci said:I'd like it quite a bit as well, though part of me still believes SotC would be both helped and hurt by any alterations to its controls or framerate - as unbelievable as that sounds. ICO? Yeah, buff it up and make it available.
